Hello also on my behalf! Since I'm not exactly a big mountaineer, I'm turning to you here too. This coming Friday, my girlfriend and I want to head to the Triglav Lakes and I'm wondering if this weather is still okay for such a trail? Fitness and will are not a problem, given that I don't hike mountains that much, I don't know if it's worth it or if one can "safely" go on such a trail at the end of September given that the forecast isn't really sunny and warm? Which trail do you recommend for such weather? Is the hut still open, because we'd sleep there too? Thank you kindly

What will be by Saturday is not yet known, weather forecast changes every day. Otherwise it's a very nice tour for autumn, read a bit and combine circular, the surroundings are wonderful and the hut closes 30.09.08, you'll catch the last weekend. Good luck and nice weather.

Yes the weather really changes every day...thanks for the advice...if we go we'll go over Planina Blato to the hut at Triglav Lakes and the next day, when we overnight at Komna....and descent...I think it will be quite enough and pleasant, if only the weather holds. Thanks for the advice!

You can also go from the hut at Savica over Komna to Black Lake and then to the hut at Triglav Lakes. Back to Komna and to the starting point. This tour is safe even in January let alone September. So no panic.

Now, when there's still no snow, it's not hard to do some tour. Important is to plan a route that suits your pace and fitness, because paths around Komna are longer than the Fužinski ones over Pl.Blato! Have wind-stop clothes, gloves, cap. LPP-Rok.

I didn't think there would be such a response so I thank you all very much....regarding fitness I have no problems..the problem is more that I'm not exactly an experienced mountaineer and that's why I turn here for advice... The girl once went over Komarča or wanted to go and told me that path was too dangerous for her, so I looked around here for some other path and see there are tons...anyway we want to go to the hut at Triglav Lakes via one path then next day back via some other path..and looking for what, where ... Probably go over Planina Blato one way or the other for the second half of the path still choosing and looking...

Suggestion for a circular route starting at Planina Blato. 1st day Planina Blato - Planina pri Jezeru - Dedno polje - Planina Ovčarija. Further you have two options to the hut at Triglav Lakes over Prode (easy) or less easy (short steep but very well secured descent) over Štapce, which is much more scenic. (3-4 hours) 2nd day descend to Black Lake and from there in a good hour ascend to Planina Viševnik, from which you then descend via Planina pri Jezeru back to start. (4-5h)

Thanks Tadej, probably that's a very good option to choose. But what does "less easy" mean? Is it harder or more dangerous path than through Komarča? How long does that short and steep descent take? Do you need any specific gear for it? And one more thing...does anyone have the phone number of the hut at Triglav Lakes? Once at Triglav Lakes or at the hut is it worth going further somewhere the same day and then return to the hut? Say, to the kidney-shaped lake or I think there's another higher lake at about 2000m and what path to both mentioned lakes and is the view nice and worth it? Really thanks everyone!

From Štapc you can ascend to Mala Tičarica in half an hour. On the return via planina Viševnik then in less than an hour to Pršivec. I mentioned less easy because it's not entirely easy, nor is it demanding (they go with smaller kids too). This somewhat harder part is 3 minutes long. Also picture

Thank you all sincerely... I can hardly wait for us to set off... just that the weather holds or is even better.... at what time is best to start say on the trail... I think at 8.00 it's still early enough and probably not too many people.... Now I just need to find the phone number of the hut somewhere, maybe someone can help me? Thanks

Triglav this description of yours is of course excellent but I think 11 hours of walking the second day would definitely be too much. Now I'm thinking to go from Triglav Lakes to Ledvička then to the hut at Prehodavci (sleep there)... then somewhere else back so walking max 6 hours but to the starting point via other trails (at least partly)... does such a variant exist maybe?

Of course! From Prehodavci continue in the direction of pass Hribarice, then first right junction, past pass Vrata 2192m (between Vršaki and Zelnarica). Here possible ascent to nearby Zelnarica and via grassy valley over Pl. Dedno polje to the starting point. Warning: in case of fog at Prehodavci, go back via the valley of Triglav Lakes!

If I mention 2192 to the better half she won't even go to Prehodavci Viharnik you have to know we're not some serious mountaineers or rather she surely won't walk on any horrible trails if it's some harder path of course.... anyway we'll go to Prehodavci if the weather allows.... back I don't know yet... we'll see.... just not more than about 6 hours walking the second day.... Where can one get phone numbers for all these huts please?

Yes, thanks guys, I found it on the net this morning... the problem is that the hut at Prehodavci is closed since last weekend... so we'll obviously sleep at the hut by Triglav Lakes and maybe do a round trip to Prehodavci and back and sleep the second day before the descent down... apparently they already have 120 reservations for the coming weekend....

Hello again.... obviously the route will look like this 1st day: planina Blato - planina pri Jezeru - Dedno polje - planina Ovčarija - Triglav Lakes via Prode or Štapce - Jezero v ledvicah - Zeleno Jezero - Rjavo Jezero - Prehodavci and then back down to the hut at the double lake where we overnight. 2nd day: descent to Črno Lake, planina Viševnik - Pršivec descent to planina pri Jezeru and back to start. Thanks everyone.. the route should look like this... maybe we'll change our minds and go somewhere else.. depending on feeling and weather...

Although this hut at Dolič doesn't give me peace... ) What do you advise.. continue to the hut at Prehodavci and overnight there... then back down the same path or some other way... I hope it's not some too difficult paths....

If you want the girl to go to the mountains again, it's enough up to Prehodavci. Dolič you can save for another time.
