Today from Šentvid I observed snow-covered peaks of the Kamnik Alps. Kamniško sedlo was quite snow-covered. The whiteness was increasing in that mountain world towards the east. Later the sky opened towards Gorenjska as usual and clearly the white Karavanke with Stol were visible. Now I'm roasting chestnuts, later the promise to Geppo according to his recipe.

My view reaches planina Podvežak, Veliki vrh, Ojstrica.... This part is also snow-covered, snow line is below planina Podvežak.

That sunset already killed me earlier to take a picture!! Viharnik - really interested in results?? just in case mix from farther.. We "tested" this last year, then after bigger explosions the guy admitted he soaked chestnuts only a few hours. Lp

With pleasure I would share delicious roasted chestnuts like Jesus bread once at last supper. Even nicer than tasty they smell nicely. After them fits some home wine. Lp

Geppo, today I managed to roast them, but pre-soaked chestnuts for 24h in water doesn't work best. Some exploded! Good they were covered, so better stick to recipes of Ljubljana chestnut roasters with grills who cut the shell with a spike.

No problem, took them out, cut them and back on the fire. Also very hard to peel! Lp

Hello! Not quite mountain topic (chestnuts) , but anyway: in chestnuts before roasting, make cuts on both sides. Then when roasted, ideal for peeling. (My dad does it that way.) Just watch not to cut too deep. And autumn smells full of roasted chestnuts!

Pikec, don't know where you found such colors . Congrats on the choice; you're probably already a pro. Thanks for the atmosphere these pics give.
