Why is it offered in Slovenian huts: mushroom soup, stew, jota, ričet and pasulj??? Why pasulj but not beans?

Similar to ričet, which is the name of the dish, not ješprenj which is the main ingredient.

Karletoo, excellent answer, now everything is clear to me, I cover all!

Pasulj, white beans
Bean soup, speckled beans

But it seems to me it would be nicer if the menu in huts was like this:
Mushroom soup
Stew
Jota
Ješprenj
Beans

we are in Slovenia in Europe, not on the Balkans. Right?

@antik
Slovenes will never have all the words for many things (ćevapčiči, pasulj). We don't need them either. Croats tried it but it didn't work out (helicopter-aircraft)velik nasmehzmedenmežikanje

When I once came to Ljubljana I said I'm from Varaždin, and a girl wanted to speak Croatian to represent her better, and when she started speaking I just laughed because it was funny she spoke as if I came from Belgrade, so I told her speak Slovenian I'll represent you better because my grandma is from Mozirje and I've been to Slovenia every summer on vacation. That's how it is. I wanted to say Slovenes speak and write in Slovenian not Croatian or Serbian.
yeah I know ćevapčići are ćevapčići everywhere, but I'd rather have beans on the menu at Aljažev dom in Triglav National Park not pasulj.

If it said beans, everyone would ask what exactly that dish is. Beans can mean anything: bean minestra, pasulj, bean salad, string beans...

Well, since we're on foreign languages. You should have seen my trainer when we went to buy gear in Germany. Half sentence in broken German, half just gestured. For example when he needed the word bit (part of bridle), he just stuck his finger in his mouth. HAHAH burke

I think that (contagious) xenophobia is not cured by either beans or pasulj. Especially if they just rename it on the menu, but it stays the same on the plate.jezik

After independence they tried some Slovenization in the style of new Croatian, but it didn't work at all. Ćevapčiči were meat rolls somewhere (even meat sausages, as some wanted to package it). Pleskavica was a meat patty. I don't remember pizza anymore, but everything was wrong because people have dishes in their heads and if it's not what they think under the name, it just doesn't sit well.
If I want ćevapčiči, I order them. Same for bean soup, pasulj, prebranac, pizza, sushi, spaghetti... The morons who tried to Slovenize it, let them have their bean1, bean2, bean3, topped dough, raw fish and thin noodles.
Antik, don't burn us with your ideas that you don't even believe in practice yourself!

Serajko, you say that
Slovenes will never have all words for many things (pasulj). That's not true, we have beans but not pasulj.
But Pinkerton, why would I burn you, I'm Slovenian too, a real one, with roots from Mozirje, (who works and lives abroad) and when I come to Berlin on the menu it's bonen, in Belgrade pasulj, in Zagreb grah, in London bean, but when I come to a holy Slovenian place like Aljažev dom in Triglav National Park on the menu it's pasulj. Is it embarrassing for Slovenes if it was beans?

And Tetovec must be mandatory for pasulj. I already got 1/2kg from the gypsy at the market. Now I need a smoked piece of pork and pasulj will be great!velik nasmeh

Slovenes, Croats, Serbs are Slavic brothers, our proto-Slavic ancestors most likely spoke the same language, Triglav is an old Slavic god, so there's probably nothing wrong with the word PASULJ in the house under Triglav.

It's wrong for a guest to bother the host. If he can't eat the pasulj he wants because it would be a sin since it's called pasulj, let him calmly order fižol from the waiter. He'll get the same, as Juš said two posts ago...
