02.01.2009 also "after" New Year's hike to Boč, namely from Poljčane over Babe. A bit frozen, so poles were quite handy, weather foggy and gray, otherwise BP.

If you want more solitary paths, you climb the steep path that starts at the starting point immediately to the left steeply uphill, I don't know anymore what this path is called because the sign has disappeared. True, it was frozen and slippery a few days ago on the summit or ridge quite a lot of drifted snow, but without crowds, the path over Balunjača is not so besieged either.

Start at the parking lot, steeply left uphill (on this side there is a small weekend house and there by the path 'private' sign), after some 200m cross the asphalted road to the hut, then to the other side past the closed barrier, then right uphill, the path is marked but markings now mostly not visible, at least then due to snow, but now thaw so snow probably melted.
My husband and I had no problems as we walked this path last year too, we did go off the marked path a few times but found it again. Personally very interesting path, gives impression high above 1000m.
Remember path named after some person, how exactly not. Last year tree had sign right at path start. On first pic with signs not mentioned this path. And to top, back past hut, of course hut stop but not Monday as closed. Found out standing at door, then over Babe to car. Hope enough info path desc.

Today on Boč saw pasque flower and big crowd on top even bigger at hut where most drove up with cars which spoils nature beauty quite a bit.

We too today on Boč. Started from Zg.Poljčane over Balunjača to top then from top to hut on Boč return over Baba. Nice loop path crowd really big.

Today I finally made it together with my friend we set off to Boč on the path that "jprim" recommended to me path is really interesting as you quite steeply ascend and that without rest until you reach direct to the transmitter path we overcame in one hour. On the path there are marks which are already very poorly visible would need repainting as the path is suitable when crowd on other paths here you avoid it. Now I will on this path more times ascend to Boč. Thanks

Well nice that you walked this path for me it's really the favorite pure conditioning training. You meet only few hikers I would like if it stays like that.
Interested what is on the last two photos. Don't know.

That's refreshment place Drevenik which is just a stone's throw ahead from the hut on Boč along the road to Rogaška.

Nice weather forecast for 1.May so we went to Boč over Balunjača; nice path with hour of good ascent (at least for me) although have to say that I liked it much more from Kostrivnica many years ago; sadly don't remember path exactly anymore (also then we got a bit lost) so maybe not superfluous if someone of "our forum guides" describes also this path; thanks

Pleasant weather forecast and for a change today morning visited BOč instead of our Donačka g. Path was frozen so no mud like yesterday on Donačka g. We were quite among the first today, when returning quite a number had ascended to the top, and parking at the bend already full when we came back. Snow on path for now no but at higher temps more mud but not too much.

Yes, also I today started with this year's conquering of beautiful Slovenian mountains and peaks. Since last year illness took some of it, I will try to make up for it this year. Really nice today morning to look around from the tower and feel how nature invites.

On Sunday 03.01.2010 ascent to tower on Boč via Detička path and continuing on steep variant. Since warmed up excellently to top (despite cold) continued over Formina to neighboring peak Plešivec 822 m.a.s.l.. Conditions for hiking excellent - frozen and snow-free.
Today also in afternoon hours light snow falling on Boč.
