Carinthian Mountain Trail

I'm missing the part of the Carinthian Mountain Trail from Šteharski vrh to Rdeči breg, I'm especially interested in how it's marked so I don't get lost in these boundless forests.

Hello! I recommend doing the path in several stages. First start in Ravne over Šteharski vrh to Dravograd then bus back to Ravne (good connection). Then circular Dravograd-Košenjak-Ojstrica-Dravograd and circular around Muta (for points Bricnik Kapunar Remšnik) and finally from HE Ožbalt to Rdeči breg (also possible from Lovrenc na Pohorju). All paths are quite well marked but still recommend map Pohorje 1:50.000. Also link for help:http://www2.arnes.si/~sopalavr/planinske_poti/koroska_planinska_pot/ And safe steps!

If I knew how long the stages are time-wise (for a well-seasoned mountaineer) it would be great.

From Ravne to Dravograd good 4 hours, circular on Košenjak 5-6 hours, circular trail Muta 7-8 hours, to Rdeči Breg also good 4 hours. LP

I have only one unknown left, where the King Matjaž hut is located, then this trail will be behind me too. Klavdipo you already know this. Thanks.

King Matjaž Hut - that's in Koprivna at the Kumer farm - nearby is also the church of St. Anne Lp

Or maybe someone knows where to get the Carinthian Mountain Trail stamp for Olševa (no.24)? Or is there a problem with any other stamp on this trail, because they have their own stamps?

Is there any marked variant from the shelter Pri Pucu to Kumer?

Maybe at TK Rogar at Sv. Duh-Podolševa

at the top of Olševa - if no special stamp (KPP), regular one suffices too!

Well after long postponing I finally went to continue the Carinthian mtn. trail namely from Sv. Križ near Dravograd over Šteharski vrh further through Ravne and Prevalje to Leš(farmstead) and back the same way. Started at 8.00 and arrived back at Sv. Križ at 16.00, trail is well marked, but asphalt from Ravne to Prevalje is very slippery especially on return. Stamp at Sv. Križ is unusable (torn bottom part).

It would be too much if I didn't go out from home for 2 days (at least for me), but the Koroška mt.trail tempted me. It started nicely at h.e Ožbolt, somewhere on 3/4 of the way to Rdeči breg it started raining, on the top it blew hard, the return to the valley was wet too, but today's rain provided for my dinner. Start at 13.15, finish (back the same way) at 16.15, path well marked.

This afternoon I continued the Koroška mt.trail from Ožbalt to Sršenov vrh. When at 14.00 at the mt.signpost in Ožbalt I saw Sršenov vrh 3.5 hours and added time for return, I uselessly started looking for a flashlight, but since I often managed to halve the written times, I went full speed. So I used 3.5 hours for ascent and return together, the path is excellently marked and about half runs on asphalt, the rest on forest paths. I think 3.5 hours from Ožbalt to Sršenov vrh is a bit exaggerated.

Last week I completed the 3rd mountain trail this year, after Slovenian and Šentiljska, this time Koroška mountain trail. For the end I saved the part from Brezno to Kozji vrh (2 days). Weather from fog you could spread on bread, to divinely blue sky over Dravski kozjak peaks. Start in Brezno at 308 m, goal K. Vrh at 1400 m, path super marked and signposted. I recommend Koroška mountain trail to all hill lovers and it's suitable also for more Sunday hikers, among which I don't count myself.

After recently finishing 3 mt.trails (Slovenian, Šentiljska and Koroška) I'm already drawn to a new one, to Jezersko mt.trail. If someone has walked it, I'd ask for as much info as possible, like e.g. path marking, stamps, buying logbook etc. Thanks.

Soon I plan to hike the Koroška mountain trail, which I would extend a bit and go from Dravograd to Maribor over Kozjak. Does anyone know where I could sleep, except at Košenjak and Žavcarjev vrh?

Last year we hiked the Maribor-Dravograd trail. We slept in a tent. That's the safest. We also had the luck that both at Žavcarjev vrh and at Košenjak, the huts were closed (check well when huts are open). So, path under your feet and little tent with you and A LOT of patience on the way. You'll get enough of asphalt, but you'll meet many friendly people too. GOOD LUCK!!!!!!

Koroška mountain trail is beautiful, soon I'll finish the second. Yes, one could (or at least 4 years ago) sleep at Sv. Duh on Ostrim vrh, and at tourist farm Herk (Sv. Jernej). You can combine Kozjak trail from MB to Dravograd and Koroška. Just this weekend we plan to go from Muta to Košenjak. Jezersko trail is not continuous. But very nice peaks, also for early or late winter (Stegovnik, Veliki vrh, Kozji vrh, Virnikov Grintavec). Paths are well marked, stamps are - almost always - at the top. Well, on Stegovnik sometimes not!
