Here, just two hours ago I rolled homevelik nasmeh, today I stamped Sleme and Smrekovec, mostly I miss stamps of Dravski Kozjak (Bricnik, Kapunar, Sršenov vrh, Rdeči Breg.... Otherwise I'm slowly approaching halfmežikanje

I agree with the previous one, this transversal is really beautiful, especially this Dravski part gives charm when the path runs all along the border with our beautiful neighbor Austria, really beautifulnasmehmežikanje

I went exactly on 27.08. along Košenjak ridge, from home on Košenjak, over Sv. Urban all the way to Spodnja Mutamežikanje

Yesterday, on 27.09.2011, a nice autumn day lured me into nature, actually I've been planning this trip for a while, recently I got the guidebook for the Carinthian Hiking Trail. I already have quite a few stamps from the Carinthian Hiking Trail points, just a few missing, especially those in the hills above the Drava river valley. Yesterday I visited the first and second control point of the Carinthian Hiking Trail; Šteharski vrh (1018 m), which rises above Ravne na Koroškem, and Sv. Križ pri Dravogradu (526 m).
The Carinthian Hiking Trail starts at the bus station in Ravne na Koroškem. Along the main road Prevalje-Dravograd we go to the turnoff for Zelenbreg, at the agricultural cooperative we turn left and a bit further to the railway viaduct, where the markings direct us sharply right. After ascending stairs, not many of them, and a few bold steps we're already at farmer Žmolak. Behind the farm building we continue across the road into the forest on a nice, mostly forest path. Still past farms Vegel, Ivad, Šteharska bajta and Šteharnik and we're at Šteharski vrh. Then we continue the trail towards Dravograd or Sv. Križ pri Dravogradu (detailed description in the Carinthian Hiking Trail guidebook).

Today Romana and I walked part of the Carinthian Hiking Trail. We started at 3:50 am in Ožbolt and walked on asphalt for a while, at the direction signs turned towards Sršenov vrh, at the first farm we stored the headlamps. We also looked into Kapla, then continued towards Remšnik. Up to here the trail is commendably well maintained-marked. Towards Kapunar maybe the letter K could be added. Also Kapunar Žoher, could be clearer how and what. Down into the ravine and across Graben?. In 2004 I think there was a little bridge over the stream. Later around the hunting lodge something could be added and also on the road. Hats off to PD Muta. You can walk fast and without anger on their trails. To Knez and higher no problems, towards the top of Košenjak there is still some snow in places. To Dravograd we chose the path over Goriški vrh. The watch measured 64 km and 3421 m of elevation gain for us; the trail took us 16 h 30''. Regards.

Today on the Carinthian Hiking Trail, Mežica, Pikovo, štinge. From home on Pikovo we also stepped to Pikov vrh and to the converter on Veliki vrh (Šumahov vrh). We returned by the same path. It was interesting to walk on paths that I walked on more than 40 years ago, as an elementary school kid, and there were also many afternoon wanderings. Regards.

KPP From Ožbalt to Slovenj Gradec.
Today Romana and I rang at Ožbalt Power Plant at 5 am, the sliding gate moved and allowed us access to the reservoir. We did the same on the other side and rushed uphill, which didn't last long. We continue on the forest road, then on a steep logging trail that brings us to Glančnik. Here we continue on the road for a while. Low in the valley we still go on a somewhat steep and poor logging trail that brings us to the asphalt road. On asphalt we walk quite a few km. Then also on gravel road and we are in Ribnica. By the ski slope we continue and reach Pesnik hut. From here another push to Ribniška koča. Here it's already classic. Črni vrh. Pungart, Partizanski dom, at Kaštivsko sedlo we turn behind Planinc hut, from here towards Kremžerjev vrh, at the hut we eat something and our trail ends at Gradiški križ in the valley. The trail was nicely walked in beautiful sunny weather. Best regards.

KPP Today I tackled the trail from Mežica to Šteharski vrh. Already on the way I was wrestling with the thought whether to stop by a former colleague, when I overcame the steep from Mežica I decided to visit him. We had a coffee and recalled some "shift" days from 30 years ago. My continuation was now easier, the trail descended to Leše (unfortunately poorly marked). Quickly the trail started ascending, steepest to Obretanovo, even there, walking in bad weather, I would hardly notice the faint markings. Towards Ledine it was a bit better. From Ledine I chose the path to Godca, first part great then problems around Godca. Next time I'll choose another path (simpler). To Prežihovina I know the path. From Tod onwards to Šance (but this path probably has no marker). Later to Šteharski vrh, probably thanks to Milan very well marked. I descended part of the way towards Dobrava and returned by road to Šteknijo. Best regards.

I WALKED THE CARINTHIAN HIKING TRAIL IN ONE GO. ROMANA AND ALEŠ HELPED ME WITH THIS

On 12.6 I started walking the Carinthian trail at 4 am. I chose the direction of the clock hand. On Uršlja the sun overtook me by a few minutes. After drinking tea I went towards Križan, Andrejev dom then to Smrekovec, here I eat stew. Then across Smrekovsko pogorje to Loka. Here I immediately continue to Raduha, from the top I return to Durce and descend on the new path to Grohat. Here at the hut I eat whatever is quickest to prepare. Over the lower-upper pass I head to Olševa. Also here I return part way and via Mrzli dol go to Kum. Here Aleš waits for me as agreed. I equip for night trip on Peč. We agree on meeting at Karavla. Here he waits again. Then I past šting, Pikovo to the hut. Then I return part way and descend to Mežica. I cross Meža and collect elevation again. To the saddle I head to Leše past Pristava on meadow road I step into Leše, behind me first 24 hours walked. Then again collect elevation all to Naravske ledine. Here I order coffee, coke from backpack I eat rolada. This takes me 20 minutes. Now I return part way then through forest, when I reach the house straight along the stream to the bridge. Now I walk mostly on road. I visit Prežih then to Šance through forest. Along the way I go to Aleš. Here I shower, rent and my path continues to Šteharski vrh. At the top I choose direction to Dravograd. I cross Meža second time, then Drava. I drink Coke. For Košenjak I choose path over Goriški vrh. Then descent to Bistriški jarek. All the height I wasted now I have to gain back. At Jernej I stop. Already cross new stream then again uphill. From farm to Bricnikov vrh runs "peaceful" path. On mobile I agree with Romana to meet at Glavar and we will walk my second night together. In two it's easier but inappropriate path under hunting house to Žohor spoiled the mood. To Kapunar we went by road. Mostly the trail leads on road, all to Sršenov vrh. Now we have day for some time (daylight). While walking to Ožbalt, we forge plan for breakfast and further path.

Since I was afraid it would delete what I wrote, I just published. In Ožbalt we eat, then over the dam of the power plant we go to Rdeči breg past the hunting lodge to Glančnik. While descending we call (Šerpo). He waits for us at Orešje. We resupply then on foot on the trail, past Ribnica, Pisnik to Ribniška koča, here we eat, then on home terrain towards Kopa. We go also to Planinc, then Kremžerjev vrh. Stop at the hut. Descent to SG through old town, to Klanec, from there on muddy path. Now I'm already walking the third night. From Saluna (INN) we go along the road to Poštarski dom.
My walk lasted 67 h
I walked 220km.
14,000 elevation meters
I didn't stop once for rest to sit and relax
Of course you wonder about sleep, there was none for three nights

Romana walked with me 90 km
Active walking 22 h 28'
Walking (supply) nutrition 25 h 13'
She gained 3964 vm.

Posting photos late of the entire KPP hiked in one go. Some photos are bad, but still they are "evidence material for those who might doubt the hiked trail", Canon slipped from my hands at night, when I caught it in the air, I accidentally pressed something wrong that I couldn't fix. I plan to repeat the trail next year, this time maybe via shortcuts. Best regards.nasmehnasmeh

Hello
Planning to hike (at least one part) of this interesting KPP. Wondering approximately how much time it would take from St. Ožbalt to Smrekovec or then from Smrekovec back to the valley. I have a guide for the trail with approximate times but we all know times are relative and interested in how it was for someone who hiked this part. I'll drive from Vrhnika which takes almost three hours and plan to overnight. Not sure yet if two or three days hiking. Thanks for all info

wonderful three days of hiking behind me. Start was at Ožbalt at Drava (p.s. stamp is at the shop in the village now not at he anymore). Started around 9.30 and finished around 17h at Ribniški where I slept. Next day through Kope and Slovenj Gradec to Uršlje where I rested overnight and morning continued past Sleme to Smrekovec all the way to Črna where bus took me to original starting point. Viewranger counted round 90km and around 5700m ascent. Total hiking around 23h. Beautiful landscape and friendly people so can't wait to return and continue nasmeh

I also started the Carinthian hiking trail. I don't know when I'll complete it and in how many parts. I feel it's beautiful and that by hiking it you embrace the whole Carinthia.
This time I went with company from Dravograd over Vrh Košenjaka to Knez na Pernicah, descent to Gortina, we walked 7h 20min: https://hribovanja.blogspot.com/2024/12/dravograd-vrh-kosenjaka-1522-m-pri.html?m=1

On a sunny Saturday I hiked a mini mini 3-hour part from Ravne na Koroškem to Šteharski vrh and Sv. Križ near Dravograd. Higher up a bit of snow, slippery here and there. The trail goes through forest, road, slope. Very steep only from Šteharski vrh towards Sv. Križ, but just one part.
