From Savica to Krn

Today I took advantage of the wonderful day for a run from Savica to Krn. On the way back I also visited Batognica and Vrh nad Peski and Lepa Komna. Although the run was quite long, I enjoyed every minute and every kilometer. nasmeh

Everywhere completely dry. Saw only a couple patches of snow under Vrh nad Peski.

Bojan, excellent report. I walked this path exactly in opposite direction, now tempted by the one you did.
Can you tell times you needed if you remember; Komna, Krn lake, Krn and whole path.

I'll continue Bojan's report. We two weren't as diligent as Bojan and only went from Savica to Komna, towards Bogatinsko sedlo, descent towards Lepoče, across Prehodce towards Vrh nad Peski. Before the ascent to the monument we looked at the watch and it was immediately clear that continuing the path wasn't sensible if we wanted to return to the valley in a somewhat normal time.

The weather was excellent, temperature perfect for walking. No snow on the path, not even a trace.

The path that I walk every year in late autumn is one of the most beautiful in the Julian Alps to me. Otherwise I can't imagine what a hot cauldron that part from Prehodce to Vrh nad Peski is in summer, but in this weather it's a real fairy tale. If you want to do the whole loop like Bojan did, you have to be a mountain runner or sleep at Komna and start the hike in the early morning hours.

After an excellent dinner at Komna, only the descent to the valley followed, of course with headlamps. We met quite a few hikers going towards Komna. All together at night it looks like a moving New Year's decoration. Nice.velik nasmeh

I managed to take a few pictures anyway. nasmeh

Be nice to me, Saša

Sincere congratulations to the kids. They are really great! The tour is above all very long, from the photos you can see it was overcome without problems. Beautiful weather.

Congratulations from my side too! I am a mountain guide and for several years I have been leading children of about the same age as yours into the mountains.

I notice that for most children the problem is already one or two hours of slow uphill walking. Well, children today are mostly left to themselves, parents don't even bother to deal with children. Therefore most children are very poorly physically prepared. So I'm very happy that there are also opposite cases! Keep it up.

@ Spatrac: I didn't run fast, took a lot of photos, so it took me a good 3 hours to Krn. Next time I'll tackle the tour a bit more seriously.

best,

bojan

Yes, yesterday my dad and I also did the "Bojan path"eek, but with the exception that we skipped Lepa Komna. Definitely an extremely beautiful path in all respects! The predecessors have already said a lot, but not everything beautiful can ever be (de)scribed anyway...eekzavijanje z očmi More in the attached photos...nasmeh
Under Komna - as a reminder and memory for us.1
Morning view from Komna, the tea is really good.2
From here on without a headlamp.3
View back towards Komna, the sun is preparing for a nice morning show.4
A little more...5
...and it is here...cuckoo...6
View from Vratca towards Krn...7
Behind - down below still foggy.8
Ufff... there's still a long way to go.9
Over there is Lepa Komna.10
Oh no, this time he preferred his own game trail over human ingenuity - the marked path.11
Morning foggy waves right below Komna.12
Another new television on the horizon - TV Krn.13
Here we will need to turn towards Peski...14
Still magnificent remains of buildings behind Lepoče.15
The name says almost everything - Prehodci.16
Deep below Tolminka, Javorca, Čadrg...17
Hmmm... Could Ivan the Mason manage this handiwork?18
Uuuuu... How far away are Peski still?19
Simply magnificent - Jalovec.20
The larger part leads along still excellent mulatieras.21
In the back a view opens towards Očak.22
Monument at Peski.23
Back there we continue towards Batognica.24
The views were insanely beautiful in autumn yesterday.25
What on earth stood here?26
One's thoughts involuntarily drift away...27
...and some wild shadow quickly grounds them.28
Below, the little lake in Lužnica shyly reveals itself.29
And the sun proudly highlights this little water eye once more.30
Sand under Vrh nad Peski.31
View of the Soča Valley.32
Batognica.33
Here one ponders especially deeply: where are you going, man? Why?34
View towards Matajur.35
Panorama from Batognica.36
Military view of Krn.37
Once bloody, a few days ago muddy, today innocently green again. The river can forget, forgive. What about us?38
Kitchen.39
To stand and endure.40
Today quite fun for stretching our butts, a century ago however...41
From Krn towards Triglav.42
Even from such beautiful peaks one must descend.43
In the background Montaž, in the foreground Rombon, Krasji Vrh and more...44
Krn. Yeah, now really down...45
...which turns out to be quite a strenuous path, especially if one already has the ascent to Bogatinsko Sedlo in mind.46
Simply beautiful.47
And a little closer to Očak.48
Peak above Peski.49
Soča Valley.50
Still scree ahead....51
Beauty around here really doesn't run out.52
A little more...53
...a little more...54
...a little more past marmot homes..55
...and a little more...56
...and finally we are at Krn Lake.57
Legs already heavy, but every detail around is even more beautiful.58
Mirror, mirror...59
This time past the hut up towards...60
...Bogatin...61
...to a really nice view of Bohinj Lake from Komna, even more pleasant due to warm service and even better spiced obara. Bravo to the friendly staff at Komna!62
Last view towards the summit of Komarče...63
...and yes, we caught the enko. In short, it was a royal mountaineering tour that empties one but makes room for more good, beauty and respect. To nature and people.64

Bojan, we met today on Dobrča. What time do you have from Brezje to Dobrča? Because you have a really fast pace.

Thanks Tinca5 and Zasavčan. Yes, with breaks it took us about 12 hours, from 4 to 16. The alarm woke us a bit before 2, since we are also from Zasavje and there's quite some drive. But all that easily outweighs everything seen.mežikanje

Given how much you walked, you were very fast (I need just from Savica to Bogatinsko sedlo at least 3 hours, how much for this tour?). I'm curious when you started and also: do the kids push themselves or do they need a little encouragement. Hope to meet you sometime.
