On 19.3.1944, an Allied bomber crashed near the village of Dobležiče close to Pilštanj on Kozjansko, but it wasn't B-17, but B-24. So probably not the one you're thinking of?

I think it's the marker by the road above Pusti Rovt (Suha saddle?) between Struška and Golica.

Atoamac, bravo! Congratulations! A shot-down B-17 bomber crashed in this area on 19.3.1944. The marker is exactly at Suha Saddle, between Krvavka and Ptičji vrh in the Karawanks border ridge.
