Maybe it's related to the water supply for the needs of the former mine in Idrija.

Otiv, you've figured this one out well. But as it seems we're still the only ones awake.

@tisa This is more of a "builder's" guess, which also misses. I have good news. Santa hurried a bit at my place and brought me a scanner, so I can also forward picture stories and puzzles. LP from the foggy center of green gold.

I'm really wondering what that is? I saw something similar under Črna prst, only there the canal or chute is lined with stone.

Feldban is just a local legend... Actually, these are remains of a dry-built flood embankment, whose branches we find in many places in the Idrija surroundings. These are water reservoirs which, after releasing water from the weirs when floating logs to the valley in spring, prevented the flood wave from spilling into the forest and flooding roads and fields in lower areas. Professor Cvelbar from Cerkno published a nice paper on this, which was published years ago in Forestry Bulletin

@pinkerton That's a good one. I'd like to know that professor and you. When did they build water reservoirs at the highest point. Anyway, do you have literature on the net. Regards
