Dejan - will you start at Ojstrica, then to Kokrška Kočna and over Kokrško sedlo to Kalški greben? Maybe we'll see each other, say at Kočne.

I will start in Stahovica and through planina over Konj to the Ojstrica summit. Here it will already be 20 km behind me. Then all the way to Kocn and further to Cojzova at Kalški greben. From there over Koren-Kriske planina back to Stahovica. I will publish approximate times last week, so we will approximately know at what hour I will be at which summit (it's all in my head, if it works out I don't know yet). See you lp Dejan

On Saturday, 9 August at 01:00 I will head out on this route. Approximate times when I will be at each peak: Kamn.sedlo (around 7:00) T.gora-Rinke (between 8:30 and 10:00) Skuta-Grintovec (10:30-12:00) Cojzova koča (around 15:30) These are the times if everything goes as it should, especially if daily form is at its peak. On the route without pole assistance. All who have walkie-talkies, we will probably be on channel 2, connected mainly with helpers and you can know where we are. For any info write to email dejc.fuzbal@gmail.com or mobile: 031207672 until Thursday evening, Friday I am already off. In the evening we will meet at the finish at Calcit for some slice of pizza and cookies, of course drinks will not be missing. Thanks in advance lp Dejan

Nice greeting! Redbull and all others planning to tackle this route. Since I devised the route myself and thus kind of "charted" it, I think there should be some rules. I know I should have written them right after completing the route, as my friends told me. However... Therefore, everyone who takes on this extreme challenge must also complete it on this exact path. Only then does it count as having completed the GRINTOVCI EXTREM route. Otherwise it is something else. I decided to write this because I talked with some people who asked me how and what about it. As we know, there are quite a few similar challenges here. For example T10 or Tržiških 10. There the rules are different: all 10 peaks in the shortest possible time. Which path does not matter, even off-trail is allowed. When Klemen Triler (excellent expert on this route) and I did this route a few years ago, we covered quite a bit of it off-trail. Questions were also whether it could be done in the opposite direction, whether only these 14 two-thousanders need to be summited. Without Velika planina, Krvavec... For Grintovci, the rules are: -Route exclusively on marked paths (exceptionally due to possible snowfields). -Start and finish at the parking lot at Kalcit. -Route in the direction towards Velika planina. -Must take photos at start, finish and all summits. -At all these points must also photograph the clock on which the time is visible. -At all summits must sign in the logbook and note the time. -Escorts are of course allowed but they do not have to be at all summits. (I didn't have any, except from Kalška gora onwards). -Poles are allowed. Now then to the route and safe steps. The route is technically very demanding. Therefore, SAFETY first here! Then nothing for a while, only then speed. For me this route was harder than T10, which is much more runnable. Here, in addition to physical fitness, huge mental fitness and concentration are needed. I intend to place the logbook in the inn at Planinski orel. Whoever completes the route will sign it. Note time, impressions from the route... PS. Dejan, I hope the weather favors you, no injuries. From what I read about your trainings, I think you can go well under 20 hours. Yes, there is still quite some reserve. If you are a good mountain runner and fast on rock, then no problem to set an excellent time. Best regards, Jure

That's right Dejan: Note time in logbook next to signature. I wish you to complete the tour as planned! Given your motivation and drive I don't doubt you - 80% is in the head!

Starting at 01.00, so if I write the time everyone will know the timing. I have a Garmin with me, which should measure the route too hopefully. But must know there are not always ideal conditions, some meters overestimation under crust in snow and most snowy is under Grinta towards Kocni. Hope it's trampled or melted near rocks. These 2 parts, elsewhere no problem.

Anyway redbull, don't know why you don't post this on running forum. Here more hikers, there ultra runners, mountain runners... They are more interested in such things. Best.

For me such things are just as interesting as somewhat calmer and slower wanderings in the hills. So I really don't know why it would be interesting only for ultra runners, mountain runners and their forums. Maybe I'm not the only one with that opinion . Besides running or fast hiking uphill this challenge also concerns mountains or even happens at enviable heights and technically demanding spots in our high mountains, so posting on hribi.net seems sensible too . That's my opinion.

OK, I agree, you're right. Should have written that it should ALSO be posted on running forum. I wrote this tour here myself. Nice greeting no hard feelings. Jure

Dejan, my sincere congratulations, I knew you would succeed but you still surprised with such big lead over previous record, very hard to reach it and almost impossible to beat. I'm sorry too I couldn't cheer you on at least up close, sometimes plans differ from wishes, but I looked towards Grintavci several times (a bit foggy) and wondered where you already were. Looking forward to report and pics. Awesome and absolute winner
