Uroš, sincere congratulations!!!nasmehnasmehnasmeh
I agree SPP is way too little promoted. Please, URGENTLY tell when and where you will organize the slide show!
Best regards, Jana

Once again thanks everyone for the congratulations.

Since I photographed the whole trail enthusiastically and took snapshots, I decided to do lectures wherever there is interest and I'm invited. Now I need a few more days to select photos, I also have lots of work at home and at work, but I'll definitely start lectures in October and will post place, date and time.....if anyone is interested.
Best regards to all, Uroš

congratulations.
I know what that means and hats off, but this is along the pruned SPP compared to the older SPT.

If one had to/those who are such tough guys that you manage in one go/ make detours to Valvazorjev dom, Pristava, then instead of or,or,or around Triglav, then to Vojsko, Predjama Castle, sv. Trojica and Škocjan Caves, it would take you surely an extra day.

There aren't few who complete SPP in one go and I don't doubt they would go around those places too if they were still in the SPP booklet. I know Uroš and followed it then, and last summer Ruth, this year there were quite a few too. They would just enjoy a bit longer...

Loni,
Of course hats off to them, but this is not criticism of them, but of the creators of the modern SPP, who instead of expanding it, prune it.

Well if you ask me, collecting stamps isn't it either if you don't do it completely, I wrote that somewhere else, the trail (of course) goes through our home courtyard, but my two very rarely see anyone marching it from Sivek to Hlevišam or vice versa. I also have the booklet, got it in August, and I try to walk the connecting paths whenever possible, not just point to point... When I'm "big", I'd like to hike it myself too. And I don't care at all in how much time, you know, the longer it lasts, the longer we enjoy.nasmeh

problem is, people haven't realized yet that collecting stamps is just an addition, not the goal

Yeah I go to the mountains just to reach the top. If I know or then see at the top that there's a stamp, I'm even happier and more satisfied that I can document the ascent on a particular mountain with a stamp. That way every time I open the Logbook from the Slovenian Mountain Trail, I remember all the peaks and feel indescribable happiness and joy.

Loni,
those can only be our dreams - to do it in one go or at least connect a few points. The problem arises in the time component, and also spatial-logistical.

I agree more with Katty. Doing it in one go would anyway only count for the mandatory part. But there are many other goals here, which you only tackle if there's some "need". And that can be stamps. This portal is just info on what all exists. Only if there's no magnet then, it's a bit harder to head to some area that doesn't look attractive at first glance. This way many people first "physically" discover the beauties of the homeland.

From this comes my opinion that SPP in the extended part should be expanded in every edition. Locals should take care (with arranging paths, markings, descriptions of sights along the way,...), to include attractive SPZ points. We want to be a tourist country. And tourism can also be non-violent towards nature, active recreation, non-mass wandering, some love solitude,.....

meuspax, where there's a will there's a way. I believe I'll do it someday, currently the biggest problem is vacation in one piece, I can still afford it, but mine can't even. I don't need magnets myself, I've never collected stamps, now I got the booklet, but that doesn't mean I'll fly just for stamps. But it's interesting to me because I've been to all those points that they've crossed out over the years. Otherwise I like to wander around, it's not necessary to climb somewhere specifically, so connecting paths between points interest me. Tomorrow if time allows (other obligations), we'll jump from Idrija to Sivka, to see exactly where SPP goes, usually I always take all the shortcuts.
And about markings, for years I didn't know what that one next to the mark on local poles means. So much for awareness. And if Uroš and then Ruth last year hadn't done the transversal in one go, I'd still know little about it today. zavijanje z očmi

Thanks Loni for nice words and defending runners on SPP in one go. Well, to be completely honest, I liked that middle variant of SPP booklet with 69 CP the best. The last variant with 71 CP is a step back, the previous with 80 CP was inhuman - at least for runners in one go!!! But don't get me wrong - all variants are great because SPP is great. Otherwise besides running 2 years ago, I've filled the SPP booklet five more times, including that old variant with all now abandoned CP, and also the old extended SPP which had 61 CP, and of course the new extended with 35 (36) CP. Simply I love these things and currently working on dozens of other connecting paths (detours). Discovering new places and new paths, orienting on terrain, being in motion and nature - that's it. Really some people think collecting stamps is silly, but the original purpose of the whole thing is certainly what I wrote in the previous sentence, stamps are like cream on sachertorte...

Hi!

This summer, or rather next week, I'll start attempting to cross the entire SPP in one go. If anyone's interested, I'll post pics and short logs on FB.

Blackpine try to present the matter. There's still a lot of snow in the mountains. You'll have first troubles in KS Alps since you'll hardly conquer certain peaks (e.g. Križ). Karavanke will be ok. Julian Alps are a story of their own.

Otherwise good luck!

My friend set off this year on SPP in one go...and we both joined her between 23.-28.6. Exactly that hardest and probably most interesting part - the Julian Alps from Vrata to the source of the Soča. It was really still quite early for such a feat and consequently still quite some snow patches, so the thing was even more spiced up nasmeh And also some plan changes due to still closed huts and weather.
