Yesterday...Hruški vrh, Rožca saddle...It was interesting and beautiful. The sun was shining and mists were chasing. The landscape around me was revealing and covering itself. Beautiful motifs. The grass was wet and livestock was grazing. The road to Rogarjev rovta is awful. Lots of deep ditches, washed-away sand due to rain and the road is sloping in places. Lots of woolly-headed thistle blooming. Beautiful spiky arrangements. nasmeh

- There is quite a lot of snow, probably up to the Rožca saddle

What are the conditions like on Hruški vrh?

I was on Hruški vrh today. Nice because it's so "quiet". There's still some snow in certain sections, but since it's not really icy, you can reach it nicely without crampons. Nice walk from Planina pod Golico, in about a week there will probably be lots of flowers too. Some crocuses ... already beautify the path and the wonderful views on both sides of the border.

No, it will still take some time to disperse

Afternoon after work to this at least today lonely and peaceful peak. Went from Plavški rovta past Zakamnik to Jeseniška planina and up to the peak, returned via Hruščanska planina and past Rogarjev rovta. Much less snow than in the post above, path is clear, only some snow patches left on the path from Rožca to the summit

In Plavški rovt. Few are left, they will soon wither

Just a quick look for mushrooms and if weather allows go higher to Hruški Peak. Since weather was ok, thunderstorm moving from west to east, continue to Klek. Descent above pasture and my own way back for some more mushroom picking. Picked a couple nice ones, some wormy too.

Oh, how invasive this plant is! Unbelievable what all humans do with their interventions and how they "help" nature change.

Otherwise, nice tour LG! Hope the mushrooms were well used wink

That's not ambrosia. It's Canadian goldenrod. Everywhere, even in valleys there's plenty of it.

A bit more about goldenrod: along mountain paths to pastures there's quite some common goldenrod, which is excellent for tea. It also has yellow flowers, but different inflorescences.

Giant (or Canadian) goldenrod, unlike the common one, is also considered an invasive alien species. But far less "harmful" than ambrosia. And bees love it a lot nasmeh

There's tons of it, say along Ljubljana ring road.

Dovška Baba-Hruški Peak-Bela peč above Dovje

Some Tuesday snapshots from a nice walk to the mentioned peaks in beautiful sunny weather. A little wind on the top, so it wasn't too hot for us.
