Kopinšek's Path to Ojstrica

Hello; has anyone been to Ojstrica recently via Kopinšek path? What are the conditions like regarding snow? Thanks!

Nice greeting. On Sunday I was on Ojstrica but via Kocbek path, from which Kopinšek path is nicely visible. Looks like no problems and I think path is dry. Other visitors who came via Kopinšek path said walking is completely normal.

Usually here upper traverse (north face) just below summit 50m snow band that stays long. Caution needed here, but can traverse next to wall above snow band as so far dry near rock. Most path on sunny side no problems. Enjoy this beautiful path to Ojstrica!

On Sunday, 6.7., we descended via Kopinšek's. Here photo of only short snowfield above north face that path crosses. Snow already (very early) soft in the morning, went without any issues (though we carried ice axes just for that spot). Otherwise path dry.

Question for site moderator: Why no path description to Ojstrica from Klemenča Jama (Kopinšek path)? Pictures welcome too.
Maybe "triglavski" has some?

That snowfield I meant too. That path section tricky for some. Lucky when with less experienced could traverse higher between rock and snowfield. Otherwise unpleasant feeling before steep north face.

No path description from Klemenča Jama to Ojstrica yet as we haven't walked it. Heading there in the next few days so expect description next week (if weather allows). Regards Tadej

From Klemenča towards Škarji, after ~20 min path branches left to saddle between Krofička and Ojstrica (straight easier over Škarje). On saddle look into Robanov kot, traverse right to rocky ridge then straight up. Before rocks usually short snowfield (think gone now), awkward entry due to surrounding chutes. Then some climbing, moderate difficult, soul kind. Always admire below Robanov kot, Krofička Molička planina. Then traverse right to ridge look back Logarska dolina. Usually sit there awhile don't know where to look Robanov or Logarska. View fall down if not careful. Then traverse steep scree. Warn snow stays long here (visible valley) ice axe almost mandatory. Fall very long probably near old bivouac (gone!). End scree/snow turn left up easier climbing to summit not far. TOUR real one demanding airy. Know well though not done this year. Comparable my opinion to path Mrzli dol to Rinka (Križ) but airier scenic one favorites. If going weekend forecast solid just early me too around. ENJOY!

Yes, will was there and I was already at the top in thoughts after Kopinšek path, but this time nature stronger and already morning, just at climbing part start, it started raining and sky got really angry, so turned back to Klemenča...

Thanks to everyone. It really looks like a "nice and airy" tour. Planning it for this year with the second half of August, when back from vacation. Thanks again for the description and pictures.

Well, this weekend ascent via Kopinšek to Ojstrica succeeded and weather held, though clouded up quickly in the morning, but great for walking, not too hot. Path really nice, airy in places. Back via Škarje to Klemenča jama for excellent sour milk and buckwheat kasha.

Yesterday's day perfect for Logarska visit. Nice autumn morning with mists at 1200m.
Up sun and heavenly peace. Visitors almost none. Views magnificent and roasted chestnuts at Klemenča jama carried by hostess to tables of rare visitors.
Path in impeccable condition.
Still some deterred, judging by talk of three men at Klemenča, who before known rocky tip preferred to turn and back to hut...
Larches glow, leaves already autumn colors, so use another nice day for path to mountains... or lower forest.

We did the path on Saturday. Nice day and very few visitors. Descent via Škarje. Nice tour!

Janez and I yesterday, but we then extended to Planjava and Kamniško sedlo, and descent to Okrešelj. Below in the valley whole day sea of fog, above warm sun and excellent views.

Nice one, this Kopinškova.
Rjavčev vrh is rewarding also in winter, when further doesn't tempt. Among other things it's an exceptional viewpoint on snow-covered walls above Okrešelj!
