Haha that's exactly what I said to myself when I made it via this variant - at least I missed the trash Otherwise thanks again for the ideas from the forum, this one will stay in memory for long.

Andi2 I agree, this is a path that anchors in memory. Today I tackled it. I wanted to go via Geppo's variant to the bivouac Eagle's nest, across the ridge to the summit and past Borovšak back to the car. For orientation I took a screenshot of Zlatko's GPS track and directions he trusted me over the phone in the morning. Let's see if it works. Started around 11 from in front of the hotel in Rimske. Found the Russian path and warmed up in quick pace. At the water mill I turned right up the hill, along the left side of the gully. When it became hard to pass, I exited left to an indistinct steep ridge and continued straight through the forest to a large meadow in the hamlet Senožete. I went past the puddle on my left, left towards the forest edge into an overgrown gully that slowly took me higher through hamlets Lukovica and Straže. I walked southwest, partly also on the road. On the left I had Velika Kozja, on the right the south slope of Kopitnik. In hamlet Straže according to the photo I found the junction right from the road into the forest and soon reached a wild dump in the woods. I already thought I missed it. From there a bit my way, a bit GPS, breaking branches, sinking to the path that goes left up the slope of the south side. There a big eagle approached me to 10 meters, sat on a branch and then flew off. At the prominent big rock I headed right into the steepness and via chamois paths and passages scrambled towards the bivouac. Soon I was there. Special spot. Drank a bit, ate chocolate, looked around and continued. Behind the bivouac straight to the vertical rock and left via chamois paths. Climbed into live rock to the chamois shelter which was blocked ahead by a rock slab. This part was quite mental. Had to turn around and climb back down. Bypassed the rock mass on the right, and traversed left via very steep terrain up to the ridge to the characteristic crocodile head. Geppo thanks for the tip. From there to the summit without issues. Longer stop at summit, snack and enjoyment. Muggy and thunder rumbling like crazy. I was soaked. For descent I used the marked path past the hut to Rimske. Steep, overgrown and wet. Dangerous for slipping. A bit my way and via unmarked path that at the rock with Kopitnik inscription turns sharply left into the gully, descended to the valley. When I reached the road, went right and after short ascent back on marked path which after almost 5 hours, 4.55, and 15 km brought me back to start. This path goes to archive for repeat.

Yes, this one somehow subscribes for once-a-year repeat . I thought the same - everyone has their nice variant. That's the charm of such areas . Congrats on the done path!

For a while I've been watching this wonder Eagle's nest, then a few days ago I contacted Geppo who directed me. Today I started from Zidani Most and first climbed Kopitnik, then found the bivouac. Got a bit tired but worth it! On descent to Rimske Toplice I visited Stražnik too, which is also a nice viewpoint. The path is exemplarily marked, no major issues on the way. Nice greetings and take care!

Last week we conquered Kopitnik in very changeable weather, this time we started at the intersection in the village of Gore. Most of the time the sun was shining, twice it quickly clouded over. Nice path, especially for when you can't go anywhere higher.

Kopitnik In the morning we park at the thermals. Along the Russian trail then steeply uphill. On the ground we find a carcass, foxes. Past the dump that seems to bother no one. In the frog pond it's lively like every spring. Lots of offspring will come. As we climb to the bivouac, the sun already warms us nicely. Slivovitz of pleasant taste. Past rock sculptures up to Kopitnik, 914 m. We continue to the closed hut, where we enjoy a snack in peace. On descent I spot a hidden path and think where it leads. Sometime it'll be its turn. Nice sunny warm day. On the way I get new shoes in Kibuba (retirement). Today they can still compete, from tomorrow just pick up. lp

Great that you decided and saw lots of interesting stuff! Frogs are getting married big time ! Dump obviously bothers no one?! I missed Garmont's winter fairy tale post and it's nice to look back. Kopitnik is definitely nice in all seasons. Did you perhaps see the path that branches left from the marked one at the big rock in the gully? May your shoes serve you well, good gear you bought! Safe steps!

Snow trudging to Kopitnik can be interesting too . Snow up to the knees too. It was a great day.
