Koroška Rinka, Štajerska Rinka, Turska Gora

Today I did a nice and in the heat quite strenuous tour starting at Rinka waterfall, then past Okrešelj to Mrzli dol and continuation towards Carinthian Rinka across scree into the wall and ascent to the notch. Followed descent to junction and continuation past the window to the top, then descent and short ascent also to Styrian Rinka. Again descended to exit from Turkish gully and continued to top of Turkish Mountain. Followed descent/ascent over today's hot and strenuous Kotliče and then to Okrešelj and start. Visits to mentioned peaks weren't overly many, conditions really hot, so you need lots of fluids. Otherwise wonderful day in the mountains.

After two great pathless ones, I felt like some hanging on the iron. In the morning I started in Logar Valley, after coffee in the hut continued through Okrešelj to Mrzli Valley and climbing fun on Carinthian Rinka. Then to Kranjska, Styrian and Mala. Descent to the exit of Turkish Gully and to Turska Gora. Continuation to Kamniško Saddle and to Okrešelj for beer velik nasmeh

. The place on such days looks more like a tavern with picnic garden than a mountain hut. zmeden

Classic from Okrešelj anyway... but who wouldn't love them, madonna!!! The heart beats faster!

The left one dropped out, the others are today's champions.

Yes, at Frischauf mostly tourists, hikers are in the minority. But were you also at Mala Rinka? (many people confuse it with Štajerska R)

15.01.17 Up to Okrešelj a nice narrow "highway", but from here on still untouched. With Nejc we trampled the most to the monument (gully fork-Savinjsko saddle). Somewhere in the middle of the slope it was a bit better windblown. Not much snow in the gully - crampons not needed. Under Rinkas one crosses old hard base - mandatory winter gear, applies to all Rinkas. Not much snow up here, Turska gora without peculiarities.
Wonderful sunny day. Temperature really well below -10, but felt much nicer.

With a bit of skill you get to the hut under Rinka waterfall, last part of road is icy, same for path to Okrešelj. Then super conditions in gully and further towards peaks. Original plan was just Turkish Mountain, which escaped me last year. When we return to exit from gully we realize it would be a shame to miss such a nice day and not use ideal conditions. We decide to continue towards Little Rinka and first to Styrian, where we had to dig out the stamp a bit, it still had holiday decorations. From it we continue to top of Carinthian, here one bit of path needed some care and then also to last Kranjska Rinka. Under boulder in shelter we have a snack and descent to valley for well-deserved drink.

Nice day and good conditions convince us it would be a pity to return to the valley and we continue towards the Rinkas

And also on the last Kranjska Rinka, all four and Turska gora... perfect day

Pleasant chat at the GRS bivouac and then down to the valley for a well-deserved drink

Križ-Turkish Mountain over gully (09.01.21)

Friday's snowfall wasn't much, but fluffy midweek snow (20cm higher). To Okrešelj say no more was hardest regarding sinking, bottom layer already hard. We go to start of slope right big rock to check base. Avalanche debris already from previous snowfall, over it little fluffy harmless snow. At entry change snowshoes for crampons, right icefalls already broken. Towards top kept left, nice couloir. Exit to heavens. Good base to Styrian Rinka, to Križ along ridge. For cherry on top also to Turkish, really exceptional conditions. Visible only three skiers who went under Savinja saddle. No wind, good temps all contribute or at least today conditions here top-notch. Believe skiing would be high level. Can't throw all parts of Alps in same basket, esp steep in Julians. Planincev Dom is this year's start and end of today's tour
