Kranjska Hut on Ledine

After reviewing the forum, I found out that no one has written under such a title yet. Today morning I drove to the cargo cableway and took the middle path that leads to the Slovenian climbing path to the hut on Ledine and to the Žrelo retreat to the Czech hut. The left one takes us to the hunting path to Ledine, the right one to the Czech hut. The third access to Ledine is also via Žrelo, which is very demanding climbing from the Czech hut. We also reach Ledine if we turn left before the cargo cableway to Jenkovo planina, there left to Baba and from the mountain via climbing to Ledine or via Austrian territory to the saddle past Ledinski vrh to the hut. You can also come from Okrešelj. These two variants are much longer.
Soon we are in front of the rock face, which takes us left with the help of cables and the rest to the hut. This is a real little climbing training for more demanding feats. After an hour of walking I'm at the hut. The winter room is open and even has a logbook. The stamp is at the entrance door. Even a stuffed eagle-owl greets us. At the hut there are brand new signs directing us everywhere. Praise! Views today wonderful. Then back to the car via the hunting path.

Hello,

can anyone tell me how the snow is on the scree before Žrelo? I'd like to go from the cargo road to Češka then through Žrelo to Kranjska and back via Slovenska?

Kristina, in the description of Jezerska Baba you also have the description of the mentioned path, which we did on Sunday. We crossed the snow on the mentioned scree just with poles, as there is a lot of scattered stones on the snow, so you can hardly slip, there is no snow in Žrelo itself, the cable is broken in several places, but you can get through Žrelo. There is also a lot of scree on the path through Žrelo. Slovenska is OK.

Today despite not the best weather we decide to attend the classical concert (already the third!) at Kranjska hut on Ledine. To Ledine via Slovenska, return via hunting path. Since we were early enough we also popped to Ledinski vrh, and to Velika Baba (and neighboring Jožka, oops, Joška velik nasmeh

), then after rain back to Ledine for the concert that started at 15:00.

The concert was great, two young musicians, clarinettist and flautist, really great stuff. Unfortunately due to weather it was held inside the hut, but next time, if weather is right, they promise outdoor concert, maybe even on the helipad nasmeh

Highly recommend, as there will apparently be more concerts, at least 2 nasmeh

Today I went via Slovenska to Ledine. The path is dry, only before entering the wall you have to cross a snowfield across its width, about 20 meters. Otherwise ok. The hunting path is being renovated, making new ladders etc. nasmeh

No need for crampons, just a bit of caution when crossing the snowfield.

Hunting path is open.

Today I went from Czech hut to Kranjska hut through Žrelo. Before entering Žrelo you cross quite an extensive snowfield. Careful, because the snow is compacted. At the entrance to Žrelo an avalanche damaged the anchor. A bit of free climbing. Down via Slovenian. Nice circular tour.

Today the weather dictated the pace of hiking. Going up it sprinkled rain every now and then, but it held until the hut. Since it started properly darkening over Skuta and neighbors, I decide to head back to the valley. At Krničarju I dawdle and watch the weather. (1.6.2013 regular servicing of the mountaineering center begins). Somehow I overly optimistically assess that it won't rain anymore today, so decision made. Back uphill, goal Czech hut. Well, my forecast held exactly until I entered the hut nasmeh

Weather forecast for today didn't promise anything good. So I decided to head to Jezersko in the afternoon and from there past Planšarsko lake, which mildly said has become a puddle. Unfortunately heat and no rain did their job. Then towards Žrelo retreat, there I turn to Žrelo. The rock was already dry, so climbing along the cables went without problems. Ice is still there. In the hut a friendly warden, who unfortunately despite nice weather was more alone today. On the way back via hunting path, which they arrange better every year and to Davo for sour milk. First time I saw his center - can say beautiful.
