I don't remember when there was last so much snow at this time of year. From the hut on Ledine there's still a huge amount and to Jezersko saddle practically walking on snow the whole time. From Savinjsko saddle slush almost to the memorial on Okrešelj.

What was the path down from the hut on Ledine like? Is the Češka hut normally accessible?

Sadly, I don't know, because I didn't go back the same path due to constant slipping. With good and stiff soles no problem

...before entering the climbing section there's a snowfield, hard, you have to cross it but it goes without winter gear because there are natural "snow bridges". The climbing section is completely dry as well as the continuation to the hut. The hunter's path is dry, but strenuous, due to larger "steps". But the Slovenian path is a shock for many, very exposed, attaching pictures.

Today a serious accident happened, lightning hit the lower cable car station. The station burned down. Most likely hut operation will be difficult, also concerts this season questionable...

Short morning hop to Ledine... up Slovenian path, in hut pleasant chat with warden, then quick down hunting path... of course obligatory stop at memorial plaque... today exactly 40 years from helicopter accident that took three lives...

New path through Žrelo!
On Saturday evening, a new path to the Kranjska hut on Ledine through Žrelo was made. The path is more demanding than the previous one, maybe similar in difficulty to that on Baba, just shorter. In the middle of the upper part, maybe a peg is missing, but let's wait for winter to do its work. The markers really sweated in 4 days..

I think several pegs are missing, for us who don't have 1.80m height it's quite a problem to stretch, pardon pull up, down I gave up.
And I don't mean anything bad, before an avalanche of criticism pours down. I just miss that old path through Žrelo....

For me too it was a surprise. It has become a short ferrata that doesn't consider natural ledges. I believe they wanted to avoid erosion, but a bit too obvious. A short warning at the start of the path would help, that it's now harder. But still praise for the hard work of the path makers!
