When I cook Sunday lunch I drive above Kobarid and go via the climbing path to Krn. This path or route is really very exposed; even the "Gorenjska very difficult" routes would rank after this one in difficulty on Krn, it already smells more like "extremely" difficult. I check the cables all the time in advance because I already ran into a cut one due to lightning under Špik (they quickly closed the path then), which if I pulled it everything would come out. On the top it wasn't windy, some view, then I descend via the southern ridge under the hut and already much lower I join the marked path for Drežnica, finish in hard darkness.

oh dear, a pickaxe, shovels and strong hands and it'll be back again, if it were closer, since on a big farm I'd tidy up and carry everything too11

Thanks for the report and the terrain report.
I agree it's wise to check the condition of the protections, otherwise it can cost us dearly. I admit I often go blindly, maybe also because I'm still young, but that's why an experience like the one you shared above reminds me to do it more wisely next time, rather than in a hurry. Krn has a special place in my heart, but I've never tackled it from this side. Just about a month ago a colleague asked me if I'd ever gone up via ferrata, and to be honest until then I didn't even know there was such a path up. Maybe this year I'll manage to get to know this prominent mountain from the other end...

Ps: I assume no problems with parking in Drežnica?
