Maybe Zan will find the way back in a couple of years too. I haven't followed the forum for about two and a half years and immediately noticed the son missing in the lineup. And then it wasn't clear to me how 3/3, since you are 4 in the family, for mom I remember she didn't go with you 3 due to knee issues. Oh well, it's not important, just that you all are well.

3.1.2020, ferrata on Lisca. Protections in excellent condition, no ice, temperature above freezing, since the ferrata is nicely in the sun.

Yesterday I went to check out Lisca again. Nice family outing, half the family walked the Pastirček trail, the other half did some exercising on the climbing path. Hut open, despite quite a crowd service was quick and very friendly, food and prices ok, playground for kids in good condition, overall a very pleasant day. The only thing that surprised me was the considerable number of people tackling the ferrata without gear (well, we met 6 such on those five pitches, which seems a lot to me). Like it's some new fashion or something? I understand some are in good shape, totally confident on pegs and staples and even much harder terrain, and Lisca is easy training for them. Still, I don't get why people don't secure themselves if they could? SVK and harness around the butt really isn't much weight or hindrance...? No need to clip in everywhere, but on the last D pitch maybe after all...? I was more worried when I saw a girl in between, obviously a foreign tourist, without any gear, climbing up visibly cramping and struggling already on regular pegs right at the start. Luckily for her, she bailed somewhere in the middle and rather walked the parallel path, which fortunately exists on Lisca. Still, I was in a dilemma what to do in such a case? Politely point out that something's completely off here, or leave people alone to do what they want...? Because hand on heart, in today's times warning strangers that they're not doing something right isn't exactly well received, even if very polite and well-intentioned. What do you do?

I warn them, even if I see inappropriate footwear, especially on a child, where it already slips going up, what will it be like later on descent ... Around Vršič for example there are lots of such "tourists", and there where you can go higher by cable car (Vogel, Kanin). They usually stubbornly stick to their path, but I've done my duty (to warn) and have a clear conscience.

Nicely utilized day and text very much to the point. We could talk about this endlessly! I don't advocate either one nor the other, everyone should know for themselves, although a warning doesn't hurt, but I prefer to advise rather than warn. I've also received some remarks in the mountains myself, about my gear for example, classic in the style of "this one without a helmet and in running shoes up the mountain", but it never annoyed me. Good luck!
