Nice day calls to the mountains. I drive to the parking lot at the Memorial Park. Goal is Mokrica from Kurja dolina and then descent on the other side past Medvedja jama. I won't write much. The tour requires quite some sense of orientation, because there are several sections where no trail of predecessors helps you. To the wall of Kompotele I went directly up the gully Veliki Krvavec under Udiranje, but approach is also possible along the scree ridge right of the gully. That is also safer, because something often falls down the gully. Well, in my case it didn't. The ascent on steep and crumbly ledges requires the most caution, which starts somewhere below Velbo (natural window in the wall between Mokrica and Kompotele). Here difficulties reach about grade II. Helmet is mandatory equipment! The view from Mokrica was divine yesterday. Let the pictures speak for themselves. Mokrica from Kurja dolina

I'm wondering if anyone knows about the path to Mokrica from Kurja dolina. I've been looking for it for some time. I'd be very grateful for an answer.

Sla, the link is not exactly the most successful ... And yes, the APPROACH is described in the guide Less Known Paths of Slovenian Mountains. No mention of any noteworthy path here (except in the lower part), altogether it's more or less pathless.

PIIII A year ago I went to Mokrica from Matkova Ravan along the hunting path to Medvedja jama and further towards Mokrica, then over Kompotele and Košutna back to Matkova Ravan. To Medvedja jama you have to find passages here and there, otherwise the path can be followed, from the cave onwards it's as Volk said more or less pathless. Good luck.

mstrim - the path that goes from MARKOVA Ravan to Mokrica is not the one PIIII is asking about. It should also be noted that on picture 17 in the link that Primož76 attached, there is by no means Velb (Window) in Mokrica!

It's true that the ascent to Mokrica from Kurja dolina is anything but the ascent past Medvedja jama. From Kurja dolina it's incomparably more demanding, both technically and orientation-wise (especially the latter). I remember some nice Sunday when I decided to go up there again. At the bottom of Kurja dolina I came across day-trippers sitting on a rock. After a friendly greeting, one threw at me: "You won't get far up there!" What do kids know. Best regards.

I always go to Mokrica from the Krvavec direction. By car you can go to planina Jezerca-wide asphalt. Then to Kriška, then right to planina Koren, from planina Koren straight to Kompotela or right over planina Košutna. From Kompotela then down to Mokrica. Back it's really an ascent. We extend on the way back straight to Koren, along the ridge Ježa to Veliki Zvoh over Krvavec to Kriška, where there are two nice inns, if I may call them that- Pri Vižinčarju and Pri Florjanu. Both serve homemade food.

Several descriptions to Mokrica already here. Let me add one more we checked today with PD Medvode. From Planina Jezerca first through grass towards Planina Koren, after descent to the right, past shepherd hut on marked trail towards Markova Ravan. Below rock step with markers left to unmarked path leading to Dedec saddle, then traverse towards Mokrica. Descent almost to Medvedova jama, then steep ascent to Debeleg vrh and descent to Mokrica summit. Weather still friendly, sun mostly not scorching, more hiding. Return to Medvedova jama, then down to Markova ravan and since bus can't go up there, walk to lower cable car station on Velika planina. Feature of this path are frequent ups and downs, long traverses and of course solitude if I subtract the group. Full of gentians, edelweiss and even a chamois showed up. Ideal for green path lovers.

That's the variant described in Less Known Paths of Slovenian Mountains.

Pastirica, does your variant go past the window called Velb? (on your pics you have also photographed Velb), or maybe another variant from screes under Kompotelo...? On the map above, the track goes far from Velb according to the map

On the map Velb is drawn wrong. The track goes right past (below) the window. As far as I know, from screes only this option. By variant I meant accesses to screes, which I don't fully know and haven't walked.

If you have a GPS track, hang it on the net.

smatjaž, unfortunately, despite navigation, the whole thing is still very demanding, so it won't go. silvesterO, good shot, but conditions weren't the best.
