You know yourself you can't park on private. Would you be happy if a Bohinj guy parked on your yard or lawn? I think you don't even have one, so you don't know what PRIVATE is.

Well in Bohinj everything is private anyway, smarty-pants.

Guest who doubts that the writer owns some lawn in front of him would like to explain that not all of us are farmers.

I think you don't need to be a farmer to know what private property means and that you don't park there.

True. But city dwellers also have private property and fully understand the concept, since we're not farmers we don't own meadows. The author of the previous message apparently assumes that anyone without a yard or meadow has no private property. Some farmers obviously can't grasp that someone can have much larger private property and a very good insight into what's private and what's not than a farmer with a few meadows and fields.

Planina Blato: €10 per car per day, quite a few cars, collection for about 100 days. In that time, quite some money accumulates. Road in bad condition, parking questionable (falling rocks), parking spots for cca 20 cars. For that money, it is not certain that you will get a tire on your car upon return. If that money were invested in maintenance works, some shared with private owners, they would say OK. But since despite collection nothing has been done, you wonder where the money goes.

Good thing they don't build a road to Kredarica... you all would argue where to park... probably try if you can on Mali Triglav for free of course... Come on, answer this "simple" question? What would Bohinj and surroundings look like if everyone could park wherever they want? Or (oh audacity) can I park on your "sacred" lawn in front of the house?

Then Bohinj would be full of tourists, which Bohinj residents fear. Easier to sit on a stool all day collecting parking fees than work in a restaurant full of people!!!

To be honest, I'm ashamed to live in the same country as the "bohinjci". Me, friends... they won't see me like that anymore so they can remain Bedanci, which I think they want too... Niko

Heh, and then after the floods the Bohinjci were offendedly wondering how people rushed en masse to help in Železniki, but supposedly no one even sniffed them...

Good thing they have such a dedicated warden who on the last day when still allowed by decree, even on a holiday, faithfully fills the municipal cash!

Yes, we all really helped the Železniki people more, but the Bohinj folks will quickly get it all back with various fees, so then everything evens out, since we non-Bohinj residents, i.e. hikers and mountaineers, pay them the fees.

On Thursday I visited the Mostnica gorges. First I paid parking at the parking lot - I'm used to that, but I was very surprised by the entrance fee collector at the first trail junction. Price 1.80 Eur. I asked what it's for and what they use it for. Answer: They've been collecting entrance fee for five years and use it for trail maintenance. After walking the trail I realized that the path is catastrophic in some places because they drag wood on it. I was also very bothered by the poor trail marking, the safeguards over the canyon are poor and dangerous. They have invested something in building new bridges. I think it's too little. Given the number of visitors I met on the trail, they earned at least enough for paint that day and could have marked the trail. Otherwise, the gorges are full of water and therefore even more attractive.

I was really glad yesterday morning for this "find" - the topic about Mostnica Gorges. I opened it with interest hoping to find some nice descriptions and photos, but instead only bashing of the "stubborn" Bohinj people ... That's fine too. My younger daughter, after a good week of viral illness, really needed some fresh air and an easy walk, so we went... After viewing the gorges we continued along Voje Valley all the way to its head and to the Mostnica Waterfall. It was gorgeous. Voje Valley is enchantingly blooming at this time, deep views into the gorge bottoms are stunning and the waterfall is extremely beautiful. Everything seen and experienced today we can only recommend if instead of "gaining altitude" some afternoon you fancy a relaxed but extremely nice stroll. P.S. Well, in the end... apparently it's true that if you go to Bohinj, best to count on some fine in advance . We got it, yes, us too . Serves us right, right? Why did we wander around so long and mistakenly put the parking ticket in the wallet instead of on the windshield . "Half" for payment within eight days is 30 Eur. But to let this spoil our nice impressions, no way. And we'll still come to Bohinj despite that... Next time they won't get us, now we know how and what...

Our group also went on this trip on Sunday, 3.4. It was great, no snow and temperatures already pleasant; of course we cooled off to Mostnica waterfall. Wondering if anyone knows when they start charging parking in Stara Fužina? For now parking is still free ...
