Today escape from fog to Mrežce past Blejska hut.

Parking by the road at the junction to Šport hotel, then past Zajavornik pasture.

Ski track from Blejska hut to Mrežc summit nicely hole-punched (as Iztok Mlakar would say: Even a pig has the right to whistle).

Descent solid.

Hi,
Has anyone gone these days from Mrzli studenec to Zajavornik pasture by car? Interested if the road is snowy or icy?

We went on Saturday over Pl. Javornik. Road looked something like this.

Today again at Mrežce with family member, for whom it was first ski touring descent. Visibility worse, conditions for skiing solid.

Maybe I'll go to Blejska hut, Mrežce, Lipanski vrh and Brda.

Starting point one of: Rudno polje, Zajavornik pasture, Šport hotel... then to Blejska hut at Lipanci – to Mrežce maybe first direct rather than gentle – Lipanski vrh – direct to pass Lipanska vrata – Brda – return to Blejska hut over Lipanska vrata or more eastern path...

Is the planned route in current winter conditions particularly problematic?
Trodden path + additional hazards snow can hide + difficulty on ascents and descents from summits? No snowshoes.

Maybe better to connect these peaks differently in one tour?

Possible to drive by car and park above pl. Javornik or Zajavornik?

Today up there quite a few mountaineers despite some mountain wind and new snow from night showers up to 10cm on the ridge.
Peaks above Pokljuka in summit ridge parts wind-blown to hard icy snow base, lower down often uneven wind-blown snow, sometimes also crusty sinking. For steeper parts crampons, ice axe and attention to wind-blown gullies mandatory.
Ascent on skis without skins ok, in steep just a bit slipping. Descent mixed, on average quite good. Some photos, cheers!

Yesterday we visited the pastures Lipanca, Zajavornik and Kranjska valley and climbed to Mrežce. Snow actually starts only on the pastures of Lipanca and thickens to about half a meter at the top of Mrežce. For skiing only the upper open slope of the ridge is suitable, while there is still too little snow in the forest for carefree skiing. More at: http://www.gore-ljudje.net/objava/144148/

-1*C showed the thermometer in the morning on Pokljuka. Road to the monument luckily plowed, otherwise still impassable.
To Blejska hut half the way on dry, other half on snow. Above Blejska hut firm snow cover starts. Lots of snow for this time.
On Mrežce quite cold, so didn't linger long. Back to hut along ascent direction.
Around hut yesterday dug out tables and benches, so can serve outside. Interesting peeking from benches with so much snow around. Joked staff will serve in crampons nasmeh
Nice short morning tour.

Tinči AT... My sister was today at Blejska hut, on Lipanca. No more snow, gentians blooming on grasses. How it's further to Debela peč don't know. Good luck.nasmeh

When I wanted to find a forum for Mrežce and Debeli vrh together, I realized there were many options but somewhat different, so I chose this variant.
Briefly: On Monday we climbed to Mrežce and Debeli vrh from Lipanca. We used microspikes and gaiters despite the fact that it would go without them, of course with some slipping.
There was little snow on Lipanca, more higher up, and the sun had melted some by noon. The larches have mostly shed their golden glow, only on Lipanca we enjoyed their magnificent beauty.

Yesterday (Wednesday, 15 November) similar route as Silvo1952. Astonishingly less snow than during Silvo's visit, only above Lipanca the path is frozen and a bit slippery. I felt comfortable and put on microspikes, which are sensible only to the junction for Mrežce.

From Mrežce towards Debeli vrh I continued near the ridge. There an old path runs, occasionally newly trimmed. It goes a bit below Razor summit and then joins the east path to Debeli vrh. No tracks in snow there, it saved me some 30m descent and ascentvelik nasmeh.

Started late, reward breathtaking and unforgettable evening views.
All together: VDV, behind Tosc, Debeli vrh, Vernar, Mišeljski konec, Kanjavec.1
The path below Vrh Razorja is in places newly arranged, brush cut back.2
On Mrežce and Debela peč there is almost no snow.3
Rž, Rjavina, Luknja peč.4
Dolina Krme (closed...), Kepa behind.5
Planika pod Triglavom lit up. Kredarica of course not.6

Today's glimpses from the wonderful path to Mrežce. At the top wonderful views, weather spring-like. Start - Medvedova konta. Road currently very icy, need chains or 4x4 drive.
