Mrzla gora 4.10.2025
My first visit. The time has come  , but I tackle it with a dose of awe. Bottom line, expectations fulfilled!
Start 6:30 Ravenska koča, -3°C. Surprisingly for a Saturday, no one at the parking lot yet. Up the Slovenska. Up to Savinjsko sedlo it was pleasantly fresh. Besides fresh air, I also enjoyed the wonderful peace. First people I meet at Jezersko sedlo. One did Storžek up and down the southern ridge and headed off-path to Mrzli vrh.
From Savinjsko sedlo onwards welcome sun, but here and there a real cold breeze pulled. Before entering the rocks I eat a huge sandwich and action . After a slightly annoying broken scree notch, where I somehow missed the marked trail for 20 meters in scree, I happily progress and enjoy gripping the rock. Hands mostly busy, rock surprisingly compact and rugged, boot grips excellently; no major crumbling noted.
Looking at older posts, there are some new cables in the initial section that weren't there before. Hope these are the last and the trail stays as it is.
Towards the summit and on the summit met a total of 6 people, all of us were first time up today. Views from Mrzla gora to the Rinka backdrop are truly breathtaking!
Well, as I was mulling during the descent that it doesn't seem like much, the mountain showed its character. First, descent itself much more demanding than ascent and I think troubles will show mainly on descent. Really requires lots of concentration and prior experience. Tons of spots where 3-point stance is necessary. Second, yes, at least one quite crumbly section. In that wide gully a rock size of cement bag broke under my foot, but luckily didn't roll down. Since it's scree-filled, need extra care not to trigger stones there. In one moment of (unnecessary?) relaxation I triggered one myself. Mustn't happen, need to be alert always, always…
For return took ZPP over Križ. Learned of this trail recently and it pleasantly surprised me. Quite vertically winding, climbs a couloir in the wall. From memory, this trail over Križ more demanding than any section on ZPP to Koroška Rinka on the west side from the window onwards. One word, awesome!
From Ledine to starting point quick descent on Hunter's trail, perfectly groomed. Full praise to path maintainers for excellent work.

Nice, but on pic 23 it's not Gorenjska, but Koroška...

Hm. But when you cross back over Križ, or over Jezersko sedlo, you're back on Jezersko side, i.e. Gorenjska.

Only statistically, not naturally and historically, Jezersko is in Koroška, yeah but still great trip
