The weather forecast for yesterday was super, the actual weather was even better. Cloud base above the highest peaks, finger-licking temperature, some wind only on the return from Okrešelj to Kamniško sedlo and on it, otherwise a divine day. I met people on all paths, most in the climbing section to the saddle, where I had to first overtake the Croats' bus group, then I met a larger compact crowd descending.
At 5:30 I park right before the nonsensical traffic sign at Jermanci. No extra gear needed for the tour, with a light backpack I reach tea at the hut in a good hour. I change t-shirts and descend to Okrešelj amid rare short raindrops, no stop at the 'hut under construction'. At the end of the clearing, the sign saying 3.5h to Mrzla gora annoys me. Don't know who's responsible for the sloppiness. My watch showed 1h35. Consequences of recent storms visible everywhere, path rerouted several times. At the top I photograph the surroundings, only for this action would the sun have been welcome, as the pics are quite dark. I descend mostly butt-sliding, knees suffer much less that way. Tourist crowd in the buffet at Okrešelj, I leave amid the lively buzz after a cold beer and a good sandwich. On departure I spot the sign that surprises me again - Kamniško sedlo 1 hour. Wrong world. At the hut I barely match the written time zmeden

Windy there, they ask about Brana, no mood to explain I wasn't there and that one goes to the mountains in the morning...
At Kamrca the wind dies, I fill up with cold water at the little pool. Drive home to KB real torture, road in extremely bad condition. Good it was wife's higher car, no undercarriage damage.
I arrive at son-in-law's birthday celebration just when the čevapčičiči are on the grill... nasmeh

Early hour - golden hour. At half past nine already at the top of the mountain.

At least fifty times a year I see today's mountain from Gradišče across Kamniško sedlo.

On the horizon Kranjska and Koroška Rinka, and Skuta.

Fantastic Košuta with Stol and Jezerska Baba.

Storžič with Ledinski vrh and Storžek in the foreground.

Towards SE. In the middle the valley Matkov kot.

Farewell to the mountain, which was not cold at all today.

...which will already be completely moss-covered at launch.

Yes, this nice tour will remain in my memory for long anyway, as I can't dispel the thought that I was probably one of the last to meet the deceased young guys.

@lijaneja, on the sign to Kamniško sedlo it seems to say more than 1h, but it's damaged. On that one to Mrzla gora it really says 3h30, which is interesting because the sign a bit lower says 2h30.

Well, that's closer to the time, it applies of course to a group of hikers in average conditions (weather, season).
New signs supposedly in the works, I hope the timings are more realistic.

Since it's been a really looooong time since I was on Mrzla gora from Matkov kot, today I decide to visit from that side.
Noticed the path below Škaf is badly destroyed, and also above it, the section crossing the new gully is quite messed up. zavijanje z očmi

Rest all OK. Beautiful, solitary, wonderful path.
At the top cold, autumn surely coming. nasmeh

Through the gully, instead of the marked trail.

Just below the summit it clears up a bit.

…and in the valley, which is still far away.

My first visit. The time has come nasmeh

, but I tackle it with a dose of awe. Bottom line, expectations fulfilled!

Start 6:30 Ravenska koča, -3°C. Surprisingly for a Saturday, no one at the parking lot yet. Up the Slovenska. Up to Savinjsko sedlo it was pleasantly fresh. Besides fresh air, I also enjoyed the wonderful peace. First people I meet at Jezersko sedlo. One did Storžek up and down the southern ridge and headed off-path to Mrzli vrh.

From Savinjsko sedlo onwards welcome sun, but here and there a real cold breeze pulled. Before entering the rocks I eat a huge sandwich and action nasmeh

. After a slightly annoying broken scree notch, where I somehow missed the marked trail for 20 meters in scree, I happily progress and enjoy gripping the rock. Hands mostly busy, rock surprisingly compact and rugged, boot grips excellently; no major crumbling noted.

Looking at older posts, there are some new cables in the initial section that weren't there before. Hope these are the last and the trail stays as it is.

Towards the summit and on the summit met a total of 6 people, all of us were first time up today. cool

Views from Mrzla gora to the Rinka backdrop are truly breathtaking!

Well, as I was mulling during the descent that it doesn't seem like much, the mountain showed its character. First, descent itself much more demanding than ascent and I think troubles will show mainly on descent. Really requires lots of concentration and prior experience. Tons of spots where 3-point stance is necessary. Second, yes, at least one quite crumbly section. In that wide gully a rock size of cement bag broke under my foot, but luckily didn't roll down. Since it's scree-filled, need extra care not to trigger stones there. In one moment of (unnecessary?) relaxation I triggered one myself. Mustn't happen, need to be alert always, always…

For return took ZPP over Križ. Learned of this trail recently and it pleasantly surprised me. Quite vertically winding, climbs a couloir in the wall. From memory, this trail over Križ more demanding than any section on ZPP to Koroška Rinka on the west side from the window onwards. One word, awesome!

From Ledine to starting point quick descent on Hunter's trail, perfectly groomed. Full praise to path maintainers for excellent work.

Peaceful... The photo is slightly marred by the somewhat sad view of the glacier remnants below Skuta.

And already a jump to the beginning of the ascent to MG.

Crumbly gully that I mentioned in the description. Be really careful on the descent here.

...and further to the east. That ridge below looks quite wild...

There are lots of completely new fixed cables.

Uh, this little chimney would be fun to descend through, if not for the ice :).

Yes, the previous days it was quite cold.

For this beauty it will be the last day...

Hm. But when you cross back over Križ, or over Jezersko sedlo, you're back on Jezersko side, i.e. Gorenjska. nasmeh

From Okrešelj onwards there's still quite a bit of snow, which ensures pleasure on the descent. On the ascent, not really zavijanje z očmi

Most of the climbing section is dry, I used the ice axe at two spots, the crampons rested in the backpack velik nasmeh

Can't go without an ice axe here, it's hard and steep.

Just before the summit, cross this snow patch too.

Yesterday up from the direction of Matkov kot, descent to Logarska, then along the path along Logarska to the chapel, and by road back to Matkov kot.

Not much left of the škaf, but the snow tongue is still long enough to go along it to the wall. Immediately from the škaf onwards, all the way to the traverse under the rock barrier, the path is quite broken, a normal step is almost impossible. The ascent was tiring all the way to the beautiful cirque, the ridge to the top is crumbly anyway.
The path to Okrešelj and into Logarska is without major peculiarities.
