Nordic walking on the Iskriva footpath: Brnik-Mojstrana

Lately I've been walking a lot with the three-step simultaneous push-off. It's an odd-numbered step, so once the left leg forward and the next time the right leg when we push simultaneously. Its feature is intense arm pushing and fast leg frequency. You can also run very nicely in this step. The step is suitable when the terrain ascends. A very good combination is with the four-step simultaneous push-off. This step has a very nice rhythm, as it's an even-numbered step where we always have the same leg forward when we push simultaneously, e.g. the left leg. If you want to start walking with the right leg forward, you must do an intermediate step, i.e. the five-step. The step is suitable when the terrain is flat or descending. I'm very sorry that I haven't known the Nordic walking steps my whole life. They are quite logical, but in the 70s, 80s, and 90s, they weren't known to me. The feather-light poles designed for this type of walking contribute a lot to the comfort of Nordic walking. A very good feature is also that you can quickly remove the straps from the poles. Then running downhill is also possible. Martin Strel also confirmed my theory that Nordic walking and swimming are the most similar Nordic walking and swimming.

OK, if I still understand anything related to movement, I really don't know what card games have to do with a forum like Hribi.net.

The International Olympic Committee recognizes bridge as a sport, World Bridge Federation accepts it as an organization operating in line with the Olympic Charter. What elements does contract bridge contain to be a sport? Fair play, discipline, rules, ethics, dedication, training (playing contract bridge, Nordic walking, hiking...), competition and performing. Bridge is defined as a "mind sport", but also requires ..., which are qualities achieved only with good physical fitness: concentration, fighting spirit, quick reflexes, endurance (Nordic walking, hiking...) and lean build. Bridge is especially recommended for older people who are affected by dementia etc. In addition, they are advised to also do Nordic walking. If they use poles during walking and push with them, they will do a lot for themselves. What should be obligatorily taught to pupils and students in school is the Nordic walking technique and contract bridge. It is much easier in older years to Nordic walk than to run. I can tell you this from my own experience, because in my young years my personal record in the marathon is 3 hours and 14 minutes. On 21 km it is 1 hour and 23 minutes. Both things (Nordic walking and contract bridge) are covered on our website: Iskriva doživetja (https://iskrivapespot.splet.arnes.si).

I don't understand what your marathon result, bridge and Nordic walking have to do with each other?? From your post I conclude that bridge is suitable only for those who also do Nordic walking? Ah, when you master all two, three and four steps then you understand bridge too.. you need to be in physical condition for a game that any couch potato can play. Sorry but I really don't understand, and probably many on this forum don't either.

Every Contract Bridge game is a great mental effort if you want to play it qualitatively. They compare it to a surgeon's mental effort during surgery. There are bridge competitions at club, national, world levels... in various categories. If they play for 3 hours, it's clear you have to be very well physically prepared. Various methods are available for good physical preparation. What I mentioned above applies to good players who have titles of grandmasters, masters, spades, hearts, diamonds, clubs. Here is the Slovenian classification ladder. For us bridge players who have no titles and haven't participated in any bridge tournament yet, it's also good to engage in physical activity. This benefits us in playing bridge too. I do play in the app Funbridge (French app), where I compete with players from different parts of the world. We play a team game. That means we play at two tables. In bridge each table consists of 4 players, two of whom are the declaring side, e.g. (North (N) and South (S). Two play defense e.g. East (E) and West (W) or shortly NS vs EW or vice versa, depending on which pair has stronger cards. Which pair has stronger cards is determined in the bidding phase. It must also be mentioned that one of the declarers is dummy. Dummy after opponents' lead shows its cards to all players at the table and declarer plays with them (player who won bidding because first mentioned trump or no-trump game and has strong cards). At one table I sit (always in South position and 3 robots). At the other table my opponent, also in South position with 3 robots. Both tables play with the same cards. Then it's determined who with certain cards makes more tricks (tricks). 13 tricks available and to win need at least 7 or more to go over half. These tricks convert to points at end. These points convert to IMP points by special table expressing point difference (can convert to Victory points (VP) again by special table). Results then 0:10 or 3:30 if IMP points etc. The rule also applies to Nordic walking: Know more, worth more. Better to know Nordic walking technique than not. Can draw connection to dance. Better to know dance steps than not. Nordic walking has its steps as mentioned: two-beat diagonal step, double step, triple step and quadruple step with simultaneous push-off. In dance we have waltz, polka, foxtrot... In Nordic walking need to coordinate all with poles, in dance with partner. How are Nordic walking, a type of hiking, and contract bridge connected? Nordic walking enables good physical preparation - because you all probably agree there's difference if you worked intensively with arms or whole body, like in swimming or not. Good physical prep can help if playing contract bridge e.g. in old age so brains don't atrophy. For 60+ people Nordic walking probably one of best ways because more "snail-like" movement - no fast moves. Can use other methods too for physical prep.

Bridge is the most popular card mind game in the world. 10 million people play it. We play it with 52 standard cards. 4 players sit at the table forming two pairs. Game proceeds clockwise. Two opposite players are partners, the others their opponents. A bridge hand consists of two parts: bidding and play. With bidding we try to predict as accurately as possible how many tricks we'll take with partner and which suit will be trump. The opposing pair has the same chance. In the bidding, the pair that bids the higher game wins. In the second part (play) the pair winning the bidding tries to take at least as many tricks as bid. Opponents try to prevent the declarer. Winning pair gets points. Do you like socializing? Do you like playing cards? Do you like combining? Do you like having fun in pairs? Do you like thinking too? Do you like traveling? If you answered yes to at least 4 questions, then the most popular card mind game bridge is very suitable for you. Link to Rastko - free training: http://tinyurl.com/bridz-za-zacetnike

Because the title of this thread and the posts under it don't match at all, at least in most cases, I suggest to the administrator to open a new thread titled "JCERNI", and let him post everything from bridge onwards there

Bridge and chess are the only ones among mind games that are Olympic sports. More precisely, bridge is a recognized Olympic sport that is not in the Olympic Games program. It is possible that it will be in the future. Given that it is a card game where the quality of cards you get decides the win, in bridge this luck is eliminated. Namely, all players in the tournament play with the same cards. Players change tables where certain cards are set. The one with the best performance regarding the played cards wins. The topic is a conglomerate of hiking, Nordic walking, deceased artists, naturalists, travelers..., who are depicted on the Iskrive cards. Ciril Hojnik, the author of the Iskrive cards, received the Prešeren Award for 2024, specifically for work in the field of comics in the last 3 years. Since the Iskrive cards are intended for playing, we play bridge with them. But other games are possible according to wishes.
