Today, on 26.12.2010 the hikers and lady hikers of PD Velenje set out on the already 19th Stefan hike to Paški Kozjak. We gathered at 08:00 at the bus station in Velenje, then we took the bus to Gornji Dolič and from there went to Paški Kozjak. The path mostly led through the forest, also on cart tracks and meadows, snow was just for decorationvelik nasmehnasmeh. Around eleven o'clock in the morning we arrived at Sv. Jošt on Paški Kozjak, then followed the descent to the hut at Paški Kozjak (960 m), where we had excellent lunch (home-made cured meatsmežikanje). Around two o'clock in the afternoon we continued the path towards Velenje, where we arrived just after 16:00.

This hike is dedicated to the sadly deceased hiker on Mt. Blanc. Next year it will be already 20th, jubilee.

I'm curious about the name of the peak or saddle where there's a box on the tree, before you reached P.Kozjak?

I know where you mean yeah, but you're asking too much of me because I went there for the first time from that side to Paški Kozjak.

Today at eight in the morning I set off on foot from home for a Sunday ramble around Paški Kozjaknasmeh, to the mountain hut it took me a good two and a half hours walking. Then I continued towards Sv. Jošt on Paški Kozjak (1065 m) (sadly missed the Sunday mass)mrk pogled, from there I first headed to Špik (1108 m) and then to the highest peak of Paški Kozjak, Basališče (1272 m). Weather was gorgeous, but especially on Špik and then towards Basališče it was windy, the closer to Basališče the less wind, on Basališče completely windless, in the sun really pleasantly warm.
In total walked 9 hours today (one shift and a bit morevelik nasmehnasmehmežikanje), yesterday about 6-7. God grant I can, some (sadly) don't have such privilegesmrk pogled

On Špik they could replace the worn-out log box and the logbook in it, which has been full for a long time. And of course a stamp on the stamp stand, not to get it at the hut. Also, the surroundings of the peak are very neglected, the complete opposite of the exemplarily maintained Basališče and Štrukljev vrh. Shame.mrk pogled

I agree, klavdipo, on Špik I rarely sign the book, for two reasons: usually, especially in winter, almost always a nasty cold wind blows so I always have ice-cold hands, I don't put on gloves because then I can't photographvelik nasmeheeknasmeh; then there's also the second reason, the worn-out log box, which can be opened with a lot of will and effortvelik nasmehnasmehmežikanjezavijanje z očmi

At Basališče it's exactly the opposite, but the path is so much more neglected and overgrown (especially late in summer and autumn, yesterday it was still somewhat visible how to go), the box is in pretty good conditionvelik nasmeh. When one looks in the logbook, one sees pure sadness, namely the peak is extremely poorly visited, and I often wonder why, probably due to remoteness, since it's quite remote from Vitanje, Dobrna, Velenje and also Mislinja sides, or the forest path is quite demanding due to huge stones and rocks or boulders. Yesterday I looked a bit at the entries in the book, the last mountaineer was entered a week ago, a bit further back I noticed that there was no entry for a month or moreeekmrk pogled; let me add that I myself was last at Basališče on 11.10.2009 (usually after mass at Sv. Jošt, I head to the nearby Špik, I admit that I somewhat unjustly neglect Basališčemrk pogled), and yesterday I signed still in the same book, and there's still quite some space for signing (almost half)velik nasmeheek

Yes, there are still hidden corners and let it remain somežikanje; I won't even mention Ostrica, there it's really to tie one's soul, in short a real paradisevelik nasmehnasmehmežikanje

Some snapshots from Saturday's path from home on Paški Kozjak to Basališče. Winter has left these areas as spring flowers greet you at every step and many anthills where ants are already quite lively. Shame that due to overgrown ridge there aren't many views.nasmeh

On this wonderfully sunny 5th Sunday of Easter I climbed from Gornji Dolič around seven in the morning to Ostrica below Basališče, where the 30th mountaineers' meeting was, organized every year by PD Vitanje. Around nine I reached Sv. Jošt, then continued to Špik where I signed the logbook and then descended to the hut on Paški Kozjak, which by the way until further notice due to illness of hostess Olga is open only weekends. After stamping I went back to Sv. Jošt, where at ten I went to Sunday Holy Mass, after mass I headed to Ostrica below Basališče where the meeting was. Nice weather brought a good number of hikers to below Basališče. Food and drink provided, good mood you had to bring yourself.velik nasmehnasmehmežikanje In short a really nice day, which storms didn't spoil this timevelik nasmeh

On the holiday Monday, 47 hikers and lady hikers participated in the 20th jubilee Stefan hike to Paški Kozjak. The starting point was at eight in the morning in Šalek, from where we then set off on the path. Around 10:30 we arrived at Bogatajeva Betka, who kindly treated us with home-made delicacies, for which I thank her most beautifully on behalf of all. Then we continued towards the hut at Paški Kozjak (960 m), where lunch followed. After lunch there was group photographing in front of the hut, then we went to Sv. Jošt (1065 m), where at the local cemetery we honored the memory of the sadly deceased hiker on Mt. Blanc, Mr. Ivan Bogataj. Then followed the descent towards Gornji Dolič, in between we stopped at two farms, where they also kindly treated us for which I thank everyone most beautifully. We arrived in Dolič at 16:30, when it started to get dark.

Some of today's photos from Špik. At ten in the morning it was only 9°C at Sv. Jošt, a quite cold wind was also blowing. The photos were taken with the camera on a mobile phone.

Nice tour, suitable for building kilometer endurance. We hadn't hiked around here yet and it was all the more interesting for us nasmeh.

We started in Dobrna, continued left towards Klanec and Paški Kozjak, hiked the entire ridge from Špik to the highest peak Basališče, returned through another valley towards Zavrhu and further towards Dobrna. The return is especially suitable for road lovers velik nasmeh.

Altogether it came to 25 km of path and 1300 m elevation gain. There are enough markers, you have to try hard to get lost. No more snow on the path anywhere, white only from snowdrops.

Coordinates of starting point in Dobrna: 46.335802, 15.225734

We parked in the center of Dobrna. For the ascent we chose the left variant towards Paški Kozjak.1
Old cinema. This time we were the only visitors.2
The start is friendly, not very steep.3
Nicely arranged Golobova chapel.4
In the chapel everything blooms.5
The old homestead has become a supporting wall for the newer one.6
There are plenty of ancient homesteads all around here, but the best times are past for most.7
You can't fool around with it, it's nerve-racking in the short run.8
View back towards Dobrna. To here we literally chewed our way up the incline.9
Nearby is Žeblarjeva peč, a rocky loner above the village.10
A mini, mini via ferrata leads to it.11
Summit of Žeblarjeva peč.12
The view from the top reaches far around.13
We continued on the steep variant. After a few kilometers both merge.14

Another fork with two variants. We chose the left one towards Visoko.17

We set off towards Basališče, the highest peak of the Paški Kozjak ridge.26
continuing along the ridge27
We felt safe the whole way, as the 14th division accompanied us throughout.28
The ridge is steep but well-trodden and nowhere exposed.29
We are already in the final section of the ridge.30
A bouquet of crowned heads.31
The highest peak.32
We returned via another path to make a circular route.33
Soon we reached a road from which we could not escape until Dobrna, except for a few short sections.34

We hiked it last year. Roads really accumulate too much.
We made the descent a bit our own way. We strayed a bit from the road. Interesting, the mileage almost matches ourscool
