Hm, it looks like this guy collector is a very precise and uncompromising type, at least to unknowns (seems he is). Let him drop the tape and not bother! That Sunday, returning around 4pm, there was a woman already dropping the tape when I was still on the curve, so no stopping.

Again tempted to go to this area, wondering if they still collect toll (and if yes, until when)?

Those Bohinj guys should have main road closed in Bohinjska Bela to smarten up a bit! It's not Mangart road by far... For that money I have to sweat honestly (el.installs) LPP-Rok.

Officially until 1.10. unofficially maybe few days later argue with stubborn Bohinj guy that deadline for toll collection passed who wins depends on verbal duel hope not like that this year

Quite a few well-known hikers ignore the Voj. valley. They make a detour via Komarče or more often along the lower path across Pl.sp.Tosc - no problem!

And where else can you park it near Planina Blato so the parking fee isn't collected?

I'm interested in the passability of the road from Stare Fuzine to Planina Blato for smaller buses up to 30 people. Thanks for the answer and nice mountaineering greetings!

when we were up there in summer they also brought vans and motorhomes there, so I think the bus won't have problems either and the parking lot is wide enough for turning

Yeah well, let some more tractors go up there, and Italian trailers for mushroom storage, and we're in perfect harmony with nature!

Yeah, this toll really bothers me too... I like going to the mountains and higher areas of the Julian Alps a lot. What they did I think two years ago... collecting 20 euros per person in the car for one-way transport, come on Bohinj folks, that's really not of sound mind to charge enthusiastic hikers like that and spoil their trip even before they get out of the car... Otherwise we've been doing it for a while now, starting the hike very early and passing the toll collectors before they get there or when they're leaving... then we nicely sleep over at Pl. Grintovica and enjoy the clean air and peace. Sure, we need to protect the environment but then locals don't drive quads around the mountains either, so some other guy doesn't get caught by TNP guys with a quad in Stara Fužina.

How is it actually now? Is the parking fee collected already in the valley, and then at the top another warden waits and directs you? And what happens if you go to the mountain so early and when you return the warden is still there? Does he let you out or spoils the nice end of the day that should await you?

Answer to Kuba Parking fee is collected already down a bit above the village You drive quite a few kilometers on partially asphalted road If the bus is too big, the warden will tell you anyway and refuse, but I doubt it, since the road is wide enough When you return and the warden is still there, of course you pay then, since otherwise you can't pass the barrier To all those against collecting such fees, here's this I'm against it too, but we pay parking in Lj, Kp, ............ You pay even if you just drive into Logarska.--- You pay if you go to Mangart saddle,.... So Anyway the road to Pl. Blato is maintained, partially asphalted, and although last year's storm almost washed it away, they fixed it.-- I'm not from around there, almost 100km away, but I understand their euro collection, and I pay without sarcastic remarks

I understand it too but only in this case, if the money goes to the right hands.. after all part of that money is probably supposed to go to Triglav National Park too...

Answer to Kuba & katjuša2: Parking fee is paid only down in Stara Fužina. Well yeah... if you go to the mountains so early or so late and the warden is still there when you return to the valley... it depends on the collector again. Now there are some young ones and they sometimes let you through, sometimes not... so far I haven't had problems on the way back and they've always let us pass when we were returning. Yeah the road is fixed... I can't complain about that because it's really nice... stones as they roll off, potholes from rain. But regarding the hiking trails from Blato towards Krstenica and Grintovica (that is those less trodden forest paths)... ouch... now they've felled some beeches and a spruce... but everything is fallen across the path and harder to pass. If the Bohinj folks clear it, then all is well and good, but if they leave that wood lying to rot... then we'll have to saw off parts of those trees as hikers to at least see the path.

Last week they asphalted two more sections of the road, so the road to the Vogar junction in the upper part is fully asphalted. Some gravel remains only in the lower flatter part. But on Saturday 11.10.2008 they no longer collected the toll.

I hope they will replace the markers that were on the trees and are now felled as soon as possible with new ones I'm glad the road is now even more drivable, although it wasn't bad before either

This weekend they were collecting toll! The collector said they will collect toll until including 15.10.2008. But with nice weather in the coming weekends will the collectors come back up???

We went on Sunday 12.10.08 at 7.30 past the place where there's usually the toll booth but there was no collector. Believe me, we weren't angry at all:rolleyes on the way back neither (we returned already in the dark). But it seemed strange to us that no hut was open, at least at the lake it could have been. We went to Prehodavci behind Kopica and down valley 7J to the start. We talked to some hikers who were sure it was open. The hut at 7J was open 2 years ago even into early November and with forecast for such nice autumn week-weekend they could make an exception.

Ks Stara fužina-Studor charges 10 eur per private car as compensation for use, maintenance and upkeep of the road, while they (just like state authorities) don't care at all that all drivers already pay road toll or compensation for use, maintenance, construction etc. every year upon registration of their private car. Instead of Bohinj municipality or Ks getting money from that state fund, they simply put up a barrier and collect money, and it's by no means a negligible amount, since it represents a large percentage of the amount drivers pay the state annually. Imagine how much toll would cost us if the state charged 10 eur for every 5km?? Or, what if every local community decided to collect compensation for use, maintenance and upkeep of roads? What huge holes are there in our laws that allow such obvious and seemingly completely formal theft by individuals!?! I asked the "collector" /god knows what her status is or if she has any/ what I get for those 10 euros, and got the answer: "with car you'll drive to the heart of TNP, otherwise I'd charge you 20." I can only wonder where this leads, namely what awaits us, nature and mountain lovers, if all Local communities where certain excursion points are located start exploiting this toll collection opportunity? E.g. at Valvasor despite greater crowds than at Planina Blato, nobody collects even parking fee, let alone toll, although the road itself is in no worse condition (I think even better) than the "Voje Vogar" road. In Croatia (Kamenjak National Park) they collect some completely negligible amount while distributing prospectuses with maps of the area and garbage bags.(By the way- we Slovenes consider Croats big rip-offs) For now it looks like the annual road toll we pay to the state applies to all Slovenian roads except one - in Bohinj. As if it were private property... This can only be called CATASTROPHIC SWINDLING!
