Can someone tell me what the path along the hunting trail to Planina Korošica is like? According to the latest info the path was supposed to be closed, but when we drove by today there were lots of cars. Vesna

We went on this path yesterday. We asked at the pasture and they told us forest works are going on during the week, so it's not passable on weekdays.

"Hunter's path" (shady one) is "collapsed" (detour) in three sections due to tree felling or forest works. No changes on the (sunny) "tractor path" though. Slowly time is coming for opening the mountain hut, sour milk... visit to Baba, Veliki vrh above Kofce... If you don't know: to the hut it's also a nice family hike. A bit more uphill than on the other side of the valley to Prevala pasture (through picturesque Born tunnel).

Today a real winter hike to Korošica pasture. Up with my son via hunter's path. Half the path is snow-free. This unmarked path is nicely routed. Then snow starts and we have proper winter conditions. Since it's early, no sinking in, otherwise up to knees. Below Grunta ridge the winter fairy tale begins. Wonderful sunny day did its thing. Rest at the hut and back via wide path below Zajmenove peči.

Can't find any data anywhere on how long the path from Ljubelj takes, via hut at old Ljubelj pass to Korošica pasture. We want to skip Košutica summit.

This can't hold, since to Košutica summit it's 2.30, so to Korošica pasture it must be definitely less.

This won't hold either, since from Ljubelj to the hut at the old pass is 45 minutes.

Yesterday we "on foot" checked the times. We left the car at that bend before Ljubelj tunnel and to the Ljubelj hut took 45 minutes fairly fast walking. From there to the junction where the path splits to Planina Korošica and Košutica another 1.15 normal pace walking. Husband took another 15 min to Korošica - so from car to goal 2.15. I in accelerated pace in half hour got to top of Košutica and in next good half hour to the pasture. Back to car with all rests, there were quite a few, along hunting trail took nearly 2 hours.

Today I did some skiing around there a bit. There's plenty of snow in that end, on the pasture good half m, higher also 70-80cm. Path from road hut well trodden, from Ljubelj pass direction up less so and reportedly icy, use crampons.
Descent was mixed but solid in segments if you watched changing snow surfaces. Only lower left part of vesin more delicate, where I felt slab a lot with much intermediate slipping, avoiding pines, also some hard fun mirrored slabs for turns. Currently no avalanche danger in minus temps, but twice under skis slab crack loudly announced in less dangerous terrain. To Hajnževo sedlo only one ski track to 50m below summit. Beautiful solitary tour serving all winter features.

Planina Korošica, up hunting trail, bit of wandering toward Ljubelj hut, due to impassability for dog (stairs), then return to pasture and back down hunting trail to car. Top still some light snow, but no issues.

I don't want any polemic to start, I also thought sometimes to do this loop with doggy, but because of those ladders it doesn't go. For thought to path manager, on normal stakes dog would easily go up, or if bypass exists. Nice greeting.

Regarding the last entered comment on "Commented trips", which is really a bit old, asking if anyone knows how the path to Planina Korošica from Vranček is now? Still torn up? How with markers?
From path description I don't gather it's too steep, but among individual comments it's mentioned anyway. So what is it? Would it work with slightly problematic knees?
If not, can someone advise another path?

Olgam, look a bit back under Košutica. On Saturday I went that path and can say the cart track path is very steep. Even more felt on descent.
