To refresh conditions a bit. Road ok, little snow. From Podvežak to Deska, Tolsti vrh, back over Lastovec. Under Lastovec big windthrow all the way to the hunting hut, so best to stick to the new forest road.

A bit left and a bit right, and you can go around or over fallen trees. This windthrow is about two years old. So the new trodden path is quite traceable, of course less visible in winter. Lp!

palček plezalček in these parts it's not advisable to wander in thick fog, it quickly happens that you don't know where you are....? hope you chose the path from Starih stali along the gully with water upwards. Very picturesque with many pools and small waterfalls. lp

I did exactly this tour once, just in the opposite direction. It has remained in my very nice memory, worth repeating .

Geppo, thanks for the concern. I went up along the water and then a bit on my own before Deska. I didn't know the descent from Deska over Lastovec, so I went a bit to scout and if I hadn't found the little path right away, I would have turned back and descended the marked one to Podvežak. Ločanka, I agree, the tour is worth repeating. I had some more in plan, but because of the fog I decided the exploratory addition would come another time. So it needs to be repeated Zokipoki, hard to believe, but it wasn't as solitary as it seems.

On Wednesday, May 11th from the end of the road in Lučka Bela to planina Šibje. Along the ridge to the path over Grofov štant, to Lastovec, Deska and Tolsti vrh and back past Vodotočnik and over Grofov štant and down to the marked path that leads through the Lučka Bela valley to Korošica. I left the car at the start of the marked trail. Above the dead-end forest road leading towards Brežiči peak, I found a barely noticeable transverse path that about 200m above Lučka Bela leads to planina Šibje. The path disappears several times in forest blowdowns. In the forest above Šibje (wherever that planina is) on the steep slope somewhat right of the ridge, there was only a light trench visible, more of a game trail than a path. Through steep gullies I somehow pushed past the rock barrier. At the trickier spots the trace was quite trodden and I used it to find passages. On the ridge at about 1470m I spotted a barely visible path junction. Right and down led towards Lučka Bela valley, left over the edge somewhere into the abyss and right up towards Lastovec summit. I followed the latter, sometimes through untrodden steep grass it really brought me in less than half an hour to the transverse hunting path. To Lastovec I headed straight up. Pure lonely untouched wilderness there. Chamois watched me curiously from rocks below Lastovec. All around is a burn area. The fire raged here around 2000, and the burnt debris hasn't overgrown even a bit to this day. On the surface, about 500x500m, the remains of branches burned more than 20 years ago stick sadly into the sky, maybe modestly greened with grass in summer. Not pleasant to walk through, and the pathless scree wasn't much fun either. Above I veered right from the summit rocks, then tried through a patch of dense dwarf pine on the mountaintop to find a way to the top. No success. Similarly on the east and north sides. Along the path straight up I continued to Deska, from there across snowfield to the neighboring comfortably reclined Tolsti vrh. There were numerous snowfields on Ojstrica and Planjava, Krofička looked more bare. Rzenik on the other side of Bela showed its two-faced nature. On one side merciless crumbling abyss, on the other friendly slopes of bare green dwarf pine. From Vodotočnik I descended pathless partly grassy partly dwarf pine slopes to the hunting path below Lastovec. After crossing the scree the path squeezes under cliffs and through fine passages leads to the forest. There a variant branches sharply right, which I came on a few hours ago and now returned on it. The steep grass seemed easier than in the morning, still I wouldn't recommend in wet. At about 1470m a path challenged me that left of the ridge leads into the abyss above Grofov štant area. Through steep and partly exposed dwarf pine I followed it about 50m until it ended at a viewpoint. Štant? Some branches were trimmed there, but lower down dwarf pine gave way to crumbly walls over which I saw no passage. I returned to the ridge, from there on a really poorly visible but once probably trodden path left down to the valley. After about 150m the path lost under fallen trees. Carefully I continued straight down the steep forested gully and with luck hit the path I walked in the morning. Following my morning track I slowly descended to the marked path leading to Korošica and along it to the watery valley bottom that under Lučka Kopa leads right of Presedlaj. Left of it under Kopa apparently a quite abandoned hunting path goes. But about planina Šibje, about the small clearing from which the path branches and about building remains there was no sign anywhere. A nice day behind me, but something was missing. Nothing important, magnificent, but still.. Maybe such a feeling just plants itself, simply as a convenient excuse so that the traveler revisits these wonderful lonely places again, more thoroughly and with even greater pleasure and enjoys them. Above 1800m large patches of southern snow, gaiters are quite suitable. For visiting Ojstrica, Planjava and similar beauties an ice axe probably won't be amiss. Longer description at Modrini neba.
