Podvežak Pasture - Korošica

Today we were on the trail Planina Podvežak - Korošica - p. Podvežak (road drivable)
Weather fantastic, 20-30 cm snow on the trail to Korošica. Snow difficult for walking - somewhere south-facing, elsewhere powdery and on some parts of the trail frozen and good for walking. Met some visitors (5) on the trail of this part of K.S. Alps. In short, we were three and had a good time - just got home quite tired (no regrets)

Maybe someone knows how far the road towards Podvežak is passable? LP.

Up to Planinšk it's plowed, further usually not.

I'm wondering if the road to Podvežak is drivable and if the path to Korošica is normally passable! lp

Jannika, if they plow to Planinšk then you have another 1:30 h to Podvežak. Snow probably not much more than when I was there. Even if more, a few cm, the path is not so demanding that it couldn't be done.
If you go, describe the conditions!

Thanks for the reply. Didn't go to Korošica because I called a farm under Podvežak about road conditions and the lady said to Podvežak only with a jeep. More than two hours one way wasn't worth walking for me. So we went to Malo planina from Kranjski Rak and it was super too. Korošica will come! LP

Does anyone know the current conditions?? (road to Planina Podvežak from Podvolovjek). We're heading there for the weekend and I'm wondering how far we can drive with winter tires.

I was there this weekend, you can drive right to Podvežak with good winter tires!
But don't go without skis, because it sinks terribly, I burned so much energy to Korošica that I postponed the ascent to Ojstrica for later!

The road is drivable, as jurs wrote. I was at the top of Ojstrica. Caution is needed towards the top, as you can slip despite crampons due to southern snow. From Podvežak to the top and back took me 6 hours.

Today (16.11.08) we visited Planina Podvežak-Korošica-Molička peč-Podvežak.
Road is normally drivable, no snow. It starts above the shepherd's hut (Podvežak). Conditions similar to those described on 1.12.2007. A bit less snow on the trail (up to 15 cm). Trails already made except towards Molička peč the whole part was fresh. Nice sunny day - accordingly number of hikers in the mountains - MOUNTAINEERS!
In short, Sunday in the air/sun and there were some efforts too!

Nice pictures, how was the walking - at least as far as sinking goes, given the warm weather and lots of snow.

I went with touring skis and the snow held quite well, I think on foot it wouldn't sink much, but with warm weather conditions can change quickly.

Today wandering on Dleskovska plateau, Podvežak - Korošica - hunting path under Lastovec, past the drying lake - shepherd hut at planina Podvežak.
Despite bad forecast quite nice day with wind and on return to Podvežak also with rain.

still quite a few snow patches on the path

Today from Podvežak to Korošica. In between, a jump to Tolsti vrh (1986m), descent under Lastovec.
Access to the starting point eased by several km of new asphalt, which is excellent. mežikanje

Today from Podvežak to Korošica and then past Vodotočnik and over Deska back.
Access to starting point is fine, snow starts at approx 1600m and there's quite a bit in places. Morning was windy too, so quite high drifts in places. Conditions therefore... wintery.

Today's circular tour to Korošica we started at Planinšek. Road there is plowed and gritted, further driven on. From there via Planina Podvežak to Vodotočnik, Korošica and past Planina Vodole back to car. Snow blown off in places, in drifts elsewhere, too little for ski touring and too much for bootpacking (luckily I didn't have to struggle nasmeh
