Poldanovec

We spotted Poldanovec last May when we climbed up from Gačnik Waterfalls on Vojska Plateau onto the plain and caught sight of those sharp edges steeply above Gorenje Trebuše valley. We realized we were actually looking at the northern edge of Trnovska Plateau, called Govci. Poldanovec is the most prominent among them and probably the best known, and the ascent to it is really a celebration, since as soon as you're on the path to its summit, you enter a mysterious, solitary world, at this time also a world of still snow-covered paths, where following bear tracks is no rarity. We ran into those on the circular path too.

On the return, we explored the surroundings a bit more and kept an eye out for Stanov Rob, but left it for another time.
We arrived on a very narrow road to Čepovana1
Mouflons above the road2
We drove further towards Lokvam3
A bit to the parking lot4
This time Lojze also joined us5
We admired the wonderful beech forest spreading above and below the road6

Blegoš with a white cap, it suits him.21

I also pulled Jalovec from the background, before it Mahavšček.23
Kaninske gore with Kolovrat also in view.24
But right from the edge it's not advisable to look.25
When we arrived the summit was deserted and we left it that way.26

We returned by another path.28
The foresters' hut no longer serves its purpose.29
We were not the only ones walking this path.30

We also stepped onto another viewing path.34
Also here some suspicious tracks in the snow.35
This far we went, is Stanov rob in the background?36
This could well be V. Češevik.37

Interesting, but also harder path from G. Trebuše. Try it when there's no snow.

Indeed the path from Trebuše is more demanding but well followable since the marks are renewed. And such a one-day visit - over 30 of us, doesn't happen exactly every yearvelik nasmeh. so it's well trodden. A good two hours and a quarter of real knee-burner, plus less than half an hour walk to the topnasmeh We descended in two groups, some over Stanov rob, others via hunting path to Lazne and TV path to Trebuše - and that one was a bit under 4h. In the end almost 1300m of ascent accumulated. Ordinary hill, with Lokve we go there in snow for fun but from Trebuše it's already a proper ascent that shouldn't be underestimated at allnasmeh

Today we ascended Poldanovec via the usual path and walked the circular route as drawn on the board by the path. Next to it they placed an information board about GLASSMAKING, glass production, in Trnovski gozd. Under it there's also a new wooden bench. In this period foresters have quite a lot of work, as there were plenty of felled trees and logs. Poldanovec is definitely a popular peak, views reach far around, although today it wasn't the clearest.

At the top I always admire the wind-shaped trees with special forms due to wind exposure. 5
