Dear hikers! Please for one clarification. This is the price list of the hut in Logar Valley that my friends got on inquiry: ACCOMMODATION PRICE LIST PRICE PER PERSON PER DAY STAY FOR ONE NIGHT Overnight 18.00 € Overnight with breakfast 23.00 € Half-board 29.00 € Full board 35.00 € STAY FOR TWO AND MORE NIGHTS Overnight (more nights) 15.00 € Overnight with breakfast 20.00 € Half-board 26.00 € Full board 32.00 € Discounts: We offer a discount to guests with confirmed mountaineering card in the shared room. Overnight (with discount) 12.60 € On PZS website the following prices are listed: http://www.pzs.si/vsebina.php?pid=17 Is there some explanation why the Dom in Logar Valley is so very expensive? Discount for members almost doesn't exist..? Do huts have to stick to accepted prices? This is not the only example, Erjavčeva hut on Vršič, etc... Hope you understood me, thanks and greetings from Croatia!

These are usual prices for mountain huts. This year it's a novelty that discount on membership card in rooms is no longer 50% but 30%. On shared bunks it remains 50% discount. More on the link below: http://www.pzs.si/vsebina.php?pid=17 best regards and good luck in the mountains

When taxes, work, delivery, materials, laundry, maintenance are paid... from the above amounts NOTHING remains. If someone thinks they can eat, drink and sleep in mountains in July or August for 10 Eur per day, let them ask how much it costs them at home.

Vedrana; if you were literate, you'd see that 18€ overnight price matches PZS pricelist. It's the height of impudence that Croats (Croatia by far most expensive around) complain about prices in Slovenia. Viharnik-without 18€ here and 28€ AUT not so similar!

Sirt, you missed a bit. Here overnight with discount on dorms 12.6 eur (those 18 eur meant for ROOM sleep with discount). In Ötztal at 3006m with discount 12 eur dorms, room with mountaineering card 18 eur, halfboard there 2 eur more expensive, that's all. If we had hut at 3000m prices would be twice as high

Room 1-4 non-members 18€(PZS pricelist)

Certainly, other alpine countries without valid reciprocity of mountain hut services are more expensive for us. But I guarantee you that in Austria they stick to the quality offer and nowhere haggle over prices. So in Sölden you can get in an excellently equipped house sleeping with self-service breakfast, own shower and balcony for a mere 25€ in a trendy place, not like Kranjska Gora. http://www.hausmontjola.com/

Go to that same Sölden in January - price will be x5. Purely dependent on season.

Thanks everyone for the answers! primoza, sara - all clear what you wrote, but I'm asking because according to PZS price list shared bunks with discount should be e.g. 5 EUR (in Logar it's 12.60 with discount), in room 1-4 9 EUR (in L. it's 18EUR, no discount at all) etc.. Alesko, viharnik - if prices are the same in PZS price list and in hut I wouldn't see problem. In Austria not one price on website and different in hut - when you come you know how much you'll pay. Here I don't see purpose of PZS price list if prices aren't like that and don't know what price awaits in hut. sirt1 - Can't ask anything about prices because Croatia is more expensive? Don't see logic in your thinking. And don't see reason for offending, maybe I'm illiterate because don't know Slovenian but trying. But price list I see well unlike you. They see it at PZS too and sent my friend answer regarding our question: "Mountain huts must adhere to accepted overnight prices approved by PZS Board. Of course in some cases it's not so. We warned both huts based on your letter to align overnight prices with accepted ones." Not about prices but that some order must be in Croatia or Slovenia and you know how much you'll pay. Greetings all in your beautiful country!

I agree, Vedrana, with accepted PZS rules regarding equal prices on site. In Vento I paid 25 € for overnight, put 40€ on table in morning, took my rolled pre-prepared lunch, because all still sleeping, then owner on return immediately showed my bill and likewise money I attached, returned difference and thanked me. How it is everywhere here don't know, because in winter visit only destinations with quality and stick to order e.g. Komna.

Thanks viharnik and primoza. According to agreement members of Croatian Mountaineering Assoc have right to member overnight prices in rooms and shared bunks, that's not questionable, but in Logar Valley even PZS member will pay 12.60eur instead of 5eur. Sirt1 thinks my question is excess impudence but doesn't think charging at least 100% more is excess impudence. Ahh strange people..

As a layman, I'll add something to this topic. It seems to me that Dom planincev in Logarska (PD Matica Celje) is a facility intended for some other group of visitors, not for us mountain visitors. Real mountain visitors overnight at Klemenčeva jama, Okrešelj or somewhere higher... It doesn't even cross my mind to go even close to look, although I have already parked in the immediate vicinity. Vedrana, but this question is for PD - Matica Celje or the tenant, who can afford such a price disproportion. lp

geppo, Dom in Log. is 2nd category hut (http://www.pzs.si/koce.php?pid=92) but here are prices huts by categories: http://www.pzs.si/vsebina.php?pid=17 Dom in Log. is just one example where rules not respected and PZS warned them now (see above post). At Klemenčeva Jama and Okrešelj are 1st category huts and should be more expensive than Logarska.

Huts don't stick to prices, but PZS does nothing, every year I comment and write, but nothing changes. This mainly concerns PD Matica - Hut at Triglavskih and Kredarica. Don't know why they adopt some statutes and rules, probably want to be comparable with other organized countries.

alesko1971, I don't agree with your way of communicating, which expresses intolerance. Regarding commenting, you need to give a clear answer to someone who wants an answer but can't find it themselves. Which simply means price lists and service billing must be identical. If it's known that you can't "get by" with a certain price, then just raise the service price, but have the same price in the price list as in the service billing. No mountain hut should allow itself to have a lower price in the price list than what it then charges for services, drinks or food. We know the situation and we expect honesty in the mountains, from everyone. How the alpine association and alpine associations in other countries negotiate prices is their deal, which must then be respected. That it's more expensive abroad is understandable. But that's not an argument for someone interested in why the difference between published prices and service billing in our mountain stations.
