Super :-) What will the measures be? Because I don't intend to waste time with a detour long hike to the summits, because I have to work whole days for loans and taxes that just strangle us, and energy is wasted too, because I'm not as young as I was!

Given that since 2014 every summer I repaired that poor destroyed road at my own expense, so that I could at least barely get through with the car over those desperate potholes, I would expect someone to reimburse me some costs... PZS or someone else? Thanks in advance, because so far no one even said thank you...

Hribko I thank you, it was very useful for me to be able to drive to Konec or to Jermanca and be up on the peaks sometimes during the week before work, weekends are crowded anyway

I agree with 'primoza'. There were times when it wasn't hard to start in the morning at the hut in KB, do even a solid over 2000m elevation gain, miss the bus in the evening and hike to Stahovice. Years bring their own and for many a rusty mountaineer the option to start the tour at 1000m asl is of decisive importance. I myself gladly pay an appropriate road toll (like for example to Blato), let the eager youngsters park below and happily hike, parcel owners and hut suppliers have free access. Maybe some euro would really remain for maintaining roads and parking lots. With good will many things can be arranged so that as many users as possible are satisfied.

Exactly so, Stanes, and Mukica, and especially Primoza. I too would pay with great pleasure 5 Euros each, instead I've had to fight with a pickaxe for 7 years in those potholes and piles, and grade the road, so that already tired from hiking I could even get home, without having the complete exhaust, sills and undercarriage smashed, so that because of that everything started rusting everywhere. As if Austrians are dumber than us, because they have much higher paved roads than us!!! Who is smarter here??? Us, or Austrians who have paved roads up to the height of Kredarica in many places??? Well, true they have higher mountains too, But, at least up to half our heights, we could still have paved roads, not that it smokes all over the valley, and the car instead of original color is mostly white, and every time in the car wash. All this neglect-indifference from laziness and spite then shows on the whole nation and the whole country is regressing because it destroys itself.

I thought the country was regressing for other reasons... now I know it's because of dusty cars Regarding parking fees/road tolls I'll say this. In principle I have nothing against some "symbolic" amount if it's really used for the purpose (road maintenance). But with us it's often collected just to collect. Where they have a bit longer tourism tradition (Austria, Dolomites) the logic is usually reversed: parking is free, a satisfied guest will "voluntarily" (food, drinks,...) leave more money to the community than a less satisfied guest from whom you got the money "by force".

Trobec, look: I repeat and explain: the country's regression shows in the people's indifference outward also in bad roads that cause destroyed undercarriages, smashed bodies, smashed exhausts, rusted bodies, increased costs at mechanics, car washes, and thus greater dissatisfaction overall, not just at mechanics, plus even higher costs due to painting, because in the car wash due to too frequent washing the paint lacquer scratches too quickly. This leads to further deterioration of relations between employees and colleagues due to general dissatisfaction, which brings lower productivity. Do you now see how it all connects in a feedback loop? That's why roads are Very Important for every country and nation!!! Unless you think it's good that money goes to railways instead of roads, or that roads in Peru, Afghanistan, or Pakistan are good enough? Thanks in advance for understanding.

Thanks for the thanks, Mukica first <3 Otherwise one person alone can hardly do much on that long road, but it was always Much Better than nothing, that I at least graded the biggest piles on which an average car Gets Stuck Too Quickly. Unfortunately I mostly graded towards Jermanca with the pickaxe that I always had in the car during the season Reserved Only for That Road. But it repeated every week, week after week, year after year,... except when PD Kamnik got to repairing the road with machinery then there really was peace for a while... until the first heavy rain. And rarely did I manage to repair it so well that the next week I didn't need to dig much with the pickaxe and level the mess. Good night.

Suggestion. Maybe those who prefer to drive to the mountains by car should choose Vršič instead. There you can drive by car to the top over 1600 meters, which is just under 200 meters less than Kamniško sedlo and quite higher than Pastirci, and the road is paved to the top.

As long as that was happening I gladly chose something else. But if you stick to regional restrictions then this road in my region is the starting point for almost all higher mountains. In Poland though you pay parking depending on how long you'll be there (but always a couple euros) and then you pay entrance to the national park = 2 EUR (example Krkonose). Here too I gladly pay extra (since I already pay taxes and fees for forest road maintenance), but that means they have to arrange parking lots. Which is again an additional project.

I wouldn't asphalt it, just maintain it nicely. And if it's frozen it's still safer if gravel freezes because there will surely be fewer slips. Besides, gravel tells random tourists that the road ends.

@ you Unknown : Vršič is Too Far, and not only that we Too Much pollute Slovenia with exhaust gases already to there , but also Too Many Costs with driving to there, and also Too Much Time the mere Drive takes to there !!! ! !!! Therefore these three Reasons completely refute your Mistaken-Wrong proposal. Thanks anyway for your effort , although wrong, and therefore unnecessary. Nice regards.

Lukito, Well you Explained that. I fully Agree. But, to our "overclever" Slovenian ( read Anti-Slovenian ) loudmouths this is still light years away from understanding, because they think they are smarter than Poles, or rather, that they are the smartest in the Universe .

Primoza, you Explained that Well, and I agree with that too, but that money usually unfortunately goes into other pockets, just not there where it is Really needed. Therefore such cases remain like for example the road to Mangart Saddle, where they barely bother to do something, but then energy for actions is already lacking, with all Modern mechanization we have available , not during the first construction when they had to build that road still "by hand" !!! ! !!! Yes, it's sad that so little is done for mountaineering in Slovenia, because Slovenes don't care for Spiritual Progress with the help of Mountains. In Austria and Germany, and France and Italy and Switzerland, they are More Advanced regarding This . Therefore they also Have better material progress, which Always follows Spiritual Progress . Sadly our nation still "sleeps" regarding This , and therefore we lag so much behind them , instead of overtaking them with Great Ease .

Thanks Primoza, that you Well Explained to Lukito regarding paved asphalt and maintenance , ... well, concrete is also Good , and ecologically less controversial than asphalt, . I don't know who has so much spare time, to bother with patching/fixing gravel holes , instead of doing it Well once, and then have Peace for a Long time before constant road repairing ...

Hribko Master, you just park in Domžale and walk there so all that tension to Bistrica goes out and you can enjoy the mountains. No hard feelings

Lukito, you obviously don't understand at all the Essence of hiking to Mountains: The essence is to Get Up as soon as possible, and Stay Up also as Long as possible to enjoy Up as long as possible, not to lose time additionally with driving through valleys and lowlands, and then even too long a walk. Because, if we were to do it from your perspective, then we really should start from Koper, or Ankaran up...
