Last winter I walked this path, it was driven over by snowmobiles. Probably similar this year

I got this reply a while ago to a question like yours:"Last winter I walked this path, it was driven by snowmobiles. Probably similar this year" Haven't checked if true unfortunately. Ask at Koča na Pesku or Ribniška koča. Lp

Nice! Due to subjective reasons home second weekend already. Groooza. More precise snow conditions interest me, planning this route some time. Start at Pesek, past Lovrenška lakes, to Ribniška koča then Črni vrh. Are tracks made, or gaz. Thanks for info. LP!

Hey, that's not fun if you're drawn to mountains but can't go yeah, we went from Rogla hotel straight to Lovrenška, on ski tracks, cuz poor markings; but ski tracks all the way guiding you, and some people directing us; in summer we did circular from hotel to Lovrenška then to koča na Pesku and back to tower and hotel; another time again from koča na Pesku to Črno jezero and Osankarica, to Three Kings, Klopni vrh and back; wish you soonest hike; LP

On Sunday we headed on mentioned route, but no real info at Koča na Pesku, drove back to Rogla, but then columns of metal started snaking, skiers invasion, nice weather. Since we don't like crowds, plan change. Uršlja gora and wonderful again, second time this winter. LP!

Yesterday my friend and I made a track from Rogla to Ribniška hut. Snow up to 30 cm.

Can I please have a bit more information, tomorrow this tour is planned, actually from Koča na Pesku, past Lovrenška Lakes, Ribniška, and maybe Črni vrh too, last year we abandoned this tour because of snow, since we don't know the terrain yet, I'm curious how the markings are now, are they visible, or do we have to stick just to your track. LP!

Snow is melting, so the track won't be well visible anymore, but markings are frequent and well visible. From Koča na Pesku it's about 15 min longer than from Rogla. We needed approximately 4 hours to Ribniška hut, as the night before up to 30cm snow fell. But I recommend the path to Črni vrh late winter (Kope-Črni vrh-Ribniška hut-Ribniški vrh), as trail managers tread this route for cross-country skiing and it's thus also more suitable for walking.

Thanks for the answer, tomorrow the decision will be easier ... 4 hours and then back, plus some rest, so Črni vrh might wait. LP!

Hiking on the cross-country trail!?

Hey, I'll come and stomp it all properly. Probably it's walking along the edge of the trail, or if the snow groomer makes it wide enough there's definitely space for all. LP!

Well, now I know who walks on cross-country trails.

Igor is totally right. Hikers make your own track!

And where does it say to walk on the "track"? I myself went from Grmovšek's hut to Ribniška hut along the edge of the trail. I'd like to see the one who would make his own track a meter or two away from the trail!

I agree with Igor. The cross-country track isn't just that groove for classic. On the edge you obstruct skiers in free technique. And it sinks, which makes skiing even harder. Especially this year on Rogla they'll charge for using the ski tracks, so they'll probably chase hikers too.

Interesting that the ski track is made right where the footpath runs (at least Kranjska Gora-Planica), so hikers have to make a path under trees and through scrub. If we were more patient there is enough space for everyone.
