Rombon and Črnelska Peak

Hello everyone, these days I plan to go on a circular tour namely zavrzelno-rombon-Črnelska peak-zavrzelno. I'm interested if anyone knows what the path is like: difficulty, approximate length of the tour, markings.. Thanks in advance for the information. LPP

Mountaineering guide Julian Alps pages 312 to 317. Otherwise a full-day demanding tour, paths marked.

Does anyone know what the emergency bivouac under Vrh Ribežnikov looks like? Can you overnight there and how many people? Is the tourist cave marked on the map perhaps meant under the bivouac?

If anyone has any firsthand information I would be very grateful.

What you have in mind is the so-called speleological bivouac. Someone once found it, it's hard to spot, but it was locked then. Triglavski will probably know more, who flawlessly knows those parts.

Thanks for the answer. I hope Triglavski sees this post and gives me some info. The bivouac is also drawn on the alpine map along the marked alpine path from Črnelska špica towards Rombon. regards

It's an old cavern that cavers arranged when exploring Črnelsko and other shafts, long ago I once overnighted there in winter, not the best, no beds, stone base, bare rock, if not really dry period also damp, otherwise you get some old boards to help, sometimes there was a plastic barrel inside with blankets stored, now I don't know how it is, because I haven't been in that cavern for two years. For overnighting rather so-so.

We were at this bivouac on 5.9.2009. Real tragedy. In that hole half a meter of trash, smashed door and window to the other side of the wall. Draft blowing through like crazy. In front of the bivouac about 4 x 3 meters of space surrounded by a about 1 meter high stone dry wall, and on the ground filth that makes you want to puke. Sad that such people who can do this even go to the mountains. And that barrel where blankets should be is full of trash!!

Anyway, we cleaned this "front area" and prepared it for sleeping in sleeping bags under the open sky. Temperature around zero or a bit below, wind so strong it was whistling between the stones. The bivouac is actually right on the notch where it drafts like a hundred devils. But we survived the night and early in the morning quite frozen we quickly moved on - it wasn't easy for us :-).

Anyone planning to sleep in this bivouac in the future, I strongly advise against it. Better to sleep in some sheltered hollow nearby than at this spot.

And if whoever reads this post who helped litter up there, let them think about their actions and be ashamed!!!

My friend, whom you met on Sunday on the way to D station and who went to Rombon, told me that you were extremely dissatisfied with the overnight stay, well I wrote back then that there won't be much luxury there. Unfortunately it was also very cold, otherwise the night could have been spent nicer. Even cavers haven't used it for years, so it's as it is. She needed 3:15 hours from D station to the top of Rombon and then two valleys to Kljuže.

Well, we weren't exactly dissatisfied with the overnight stay - the situation was what it was and you can't influence that much. My criticism is exclusively for those who made that mess.

Triglavski, greet your friend nicely. Really pleasant lady, no doubt and seems like a tough mountaineer too. We had some Sunday strollers in the group and had to adapt to them.

In the morning I drive to Bc, buy a ticket for the "egg" Kanin, then the first raindrops greet mezmeden...still I decide to take it to the top and decide on the fly how to execute the plan. From Kanin-D station initial ascent and then descent to Prevala, then along the upper path towards Črnelska Peak. Weather held, even more, it was getting clearer and bluer sky, yuhu, so I decide to continue towards Rombon. Nice path, not demanding, just markings mostly a bit faded, well, wouldn't want fog to catch me thereeek. At the top quite some people, I treat myself to well-deserved lounging with views towards Mangart and JAlovec, which were playing with mists. For descent I decide straight to Bc, past Čukla and lower pasture Goričica...uh it dragged on like chewing gumvelik nasmeh and when I thought I was in the valley, there was still quite some walking through the forest.
Path without features, but for the "traverse" and ascent to Črnelska Peak and Veliki vrh I needed 4 hours...day was sunny, humid, but mists and wind made sure I didn't cook

I might go maybe(?) on Saturday. But first option is from Kanin via Čukla to Rombon. Anyone maybe going on Saturday? No transport from Kljuže to Kanin.

How from Kanin via Čukla? Did you maybe mean from Zavrzelno via Goričica!? Because Kanin cable car doesn't run anymore in October according to schedule. Regarding transport you can contact me on ZS (I'll give gsm,) after 14:00 I'll have time.

Um, the latest info on Kanin cable car operation is as follows: it runs for the last time as part of summer season. First ascent at 8, then repeats every hour, last descent to valley at 16.

We're going on Sunday around six from Kluž, because I don't know how long the drive is from us to Kluž, because I haven't been to Bovec area for a long time.

Yeah depends where you're from. I'm from Škofja Loka and on Tuesday it took me about 2 hours to Bovec. We went through Železniki to Petrovo brdo and along Baška grapa valley. Well, gotta know there are quite a few curves, and it really draaaaaaaaags.

Wouldn't it be better Kranj - Rateče - Trbiž -
Predel, in my opinion about 1.5 hours, and even better roadnasmeh.
