Sinji vrh

The scenic karst edge above Ajdovščina offers plenty of accesses, all beautiful and interesting in their own way. Spring is calling, quite a few people on the Karst edge. Social groups appeared that haven't been seen for a long time. But no worries. This wind blows viruses away in seconds velik nasmeh.

We started at Hublja spring, climbed through both Otliška okna to the edge, visited the highest point Sinji vrh and circled down via direct past chapel and climbing area to start. The path to climbing area is some kind of unmarked shortcut. We'll return nasmeh.

Despite poor forecast and raindrops at the start, we persisted on Saturday. Started at Hublja spring to Mali Otliški window where irises bloom. First time to Kamniti polž or spiral, bit of relaxation. Then to Veliki Otliški window, view towards Lokavec. It's a real shame we didn't have blue sky like Bagi in March. Still glad not soaked. Views to Čavn, Golaki and to the sea. Spring flowers along the path. At Sinji vrh properly cold, end of May needed gloves. Instead of hanging out in front of the hut, just quick coffee. Really unusual, open only at noon. Obviously usual, as years ago too early for hut at Sinji vrh. We descended unmarked path past chapel, bit in doubt but reached exactly Hublja spring. Next time hopefully sunny, from Predmeja to Sinji vrh over Kovk to Col...

Before the tour to Čaven and Kucelj we just drove to Sinji vrh and checked it out. Tours to this apparently low and easy peak are very long. Nice way up.

From Ajdovščina over Pale along the educational trail to the Hublje spring, then classically to Otliško okno (before that to the stone snail or Stone spiral) and further along the ridge over Navrše, but only to the left junction for Sinji vrh. Then further across the meadow to the main road, where we go about a km parallel to the road, leave it and continue over Pirjevše to Kovk. Then return along the ridge over Sončnica (where there is a paragliding site) and Kraguljc and Podrta gora, then Pravi vrh and Črne stene, and we reach the crossroads where we previously turned towards Sinji vrh. This time we go left towards Ajdovščina. Along the way there is also a nice viewpoint Stara baba, and lower down Peskarca.
