On the holiday February 8th, nice sunny weather, only moderate bora on exposed parts. Nice mountain greeting.

Nice greeting, I'm interested if anyone can explain what Sinji vrh is in the Slovenian hiking transverzala. Is it a peak, I heard there's also supposedly a farm called that. Does anyone know where to get the stamp for the mentioned point? thanks

Sinji vrh is a panoramic mountain located between Col, Ajdovščina and Predmeja. From the top there is a nice view of most of western Slovenia (in clear weather you can see the sea too). On the top there is a small cross, the stamp is 3 minutes below the top at the Sinji vrh guesthouse. http://www.hribi.net/gora.asp?gorovjeid=26&id=813

I'm interested in how long the hike takes: Pirnatova koča-Col-Sinji vrh-Otliško okno. I'm an experienced mountaineer with a lot of stamina. Is there a circular variant with start and finish at Pirnatova koča.

Pirnatova hut Col 1.5, Col Sinji Vrh 2, Sinji vrh Otliško okno 0.45. Circular paths not marked, but you can orient yourself easily by map without major problems. Return over Obli vrh, Križna Gora and Strmec back to Javornik.

3.10.2009 my friend and I did the mentioned tour: start 9.00 finish 20.00, but if cheerful company with 2 button accordions and real caretaker waits for you in the evening at the hut (Pirnatova), and silver moon accompanies you on the path, it's all joy. Special praise for the caretaker, never met such friendly simple and homely one.

Very nice to go to Sinji vrh from Predmeja on Edge Path past Otliški maj, Otliško okno and on to Sinji vrh. But a bit unpleasant in bora like I had. On return it calmed and views magnificent!

hi, I'd go this weekend to Sinji vrh from the direction of Hublje spring, interested if anyone knows the conditions.

easy, you can go even in lows, along the edge it's almost dry

When deciding winter or spring the latter won. @biba leze reminded me of Otliško okno and the devil there, so I talked my little devil and friend (well, wasn't too hard) to go there. Though Primorska area wasn't very warm, bit of breeze squeezed in, but Ajdovci probably didn't notice. Afternoon on return already nice. The path is picturesque and maintained with care. Full of signs, tablets and small things the eye spots if it wants, can't get lost. Snow here and there but no bother. Saw povža too, despite sign stubbornly pointing opposite, both windows of course. Path from window to Sinji vrh winds across plateau, hut on top closed til 12. Shame, remember it pleasant and picturesque. Returned to edge then back over Staro Baba I think, back to start at Hublje spring. I like this path, not first not last time. Flowers poking out. Nice.

Today we walked the Col - Sinji vrh path. Wonderful hike full of flowers, nice views and wind too. It would have been a perfect day if a local near the branch to Sinji vrh hadn't "enlivened" it (later we learn his name is Poldi), who prepared a colorful verbal and stick-backed welcome with lots of curses not suitable for posting. So we turned around and improvised the path to Sinji vrh. It seems marked hiking paths are sometimes not too safe, so we advise caution on this section. Best, Sonja
