Bačo, that was long - huh? How much time did you need? And how is it in the hut on Čavn? Do you sleep well?
Write, please, a bit more info!

Hi @navdušena.
From Col to Čavn with all stops it took us, say, 10h. But with all effective walking about 8h. It's true that at Col it says Path along the edge, which follows, 6h, but of course with a visit to Sinji vrh and all peaks and sights that you certainly can't miss and capture on camera, it stretches to at least 8h. Especially if you walk "by nose", and due to lack of markers from Podrta gora towards Sinji vrh, you stray among the rare houses in that part of the trail. We mistook Knafljič's markers for the markers of the Angel's Path, which features a spiral livened up by the sun. At the top, to which we also "fought" midway with bulls and other cattle, we were around 9.30h, so after 3h. Then we continued along the edge all the way to Predmeja, where it's time for a proper and deserved snack, then another good hour of walking to Koča na Čavnu, where we slept. We could have gone to both Modrasovca, but we lingered, so we left that area for another time. Next day to Kucelj-1236m, all the way to Veliki rob. Followed a long but interesting descent to the village Vitovlje, where we also saw the famous church from 1361. To Šempas there was still a good half hour of walking on asphalt surface, which is quite tiring.
We recommend this route to you, especially if you're looking for solitary and scenic paths enlivened by flowering plants, views of the Slovenian hinterland and on nice weather also the Kanin mountains chain, and historical remains from Napoleon's time.

They say the devil himself drilled it with his horn ... anyway in the 360 panorama you can see what the view through the window into the valley looks like. Also the view from the middle of the stone spiral.

Katty, nice that you went to our hills and enjoyed, but some facts: the path along the edge is on the Slovenian Mountain Trail route, which here runs from Golaki to Col (we can also hike it in the opposite direction). About fifteen minutes further from Otliško okno a signpost directs left towards Sinji vrh. We call it at the pole (elec. pole), but we have to
return from Sinji vrh along the same path back to the edge. You started the path from Col, so you should continue at Podrta gora and follow the markers, which are quite frequent up to the pole and turn right to Sinji vrh, but you turned left (why??). The owner of the bulls and cows is upset because hikers scare the livestock to shorten the path. There's little possibility to mark this part. Go to Golaki too, it's also very nice.

Marjana, yesterday after seven years I hiked the edge from Predmeja to Cola, including Sinji vrh. I have to say, the route is really beautifully marked. Also the passages through the pasture fence are safely arranged.
Praise to the markers and friendly locals I met on the way.

Has anyone hiked this week - maybe for the weekend from Ajdovščina, Predmeja or Cola towards Sinji vrh? How much snow is still on the path?

Is there less snow already? On Saturday we would go from Ajdovščina via Otliško okno to Cola. Is it trodden or do we need to break trail?

Today we were at Sinji vrh from Otlica. The path is pleasant for small children. Nice family trip. Shame that fog and wind bothered the first half of the path. On return we were treated to nice views too. Shame the stamp is unrecognizable. Nice mountain greeting from Posavje.

Start and end of the hike was at the spring of Hublje, weather was nicer than forecasts promised and most of the path we hiked alone. Although the windows were open, there was no draft and even though the little summit Navrše is right by the path, I missed it both ways. But not the spiral, we found it and checked it out. Nice day, good trip nasmeh

This time we imagined Sinji vrh as the highest point of a nice circular path offered by the scenic karst edge above Ajdovščina.

We started at the Hublje spring and went right along the gravel road all the way to the marked junction for Kovk. Along a pleasant path we climbed over the fault, visited Sinji Vrh and continued along the karst edge all the way to Predmeja. This part of the path is made for enjoyment and now full of spring flowers nasmeh.

We returned under the edge along the old Resljeva road. This is now mostly marked with blue, cycling signs. The most interesting part of this former cart path is still hidden from most visitors. Right after the hunting observation post, turn right downhill onto a poorly visible, unmarked path that soon widens. There we encounter deep cart ruts in the live rock, roadside stones with inscriptions in German and a renovated cart chapel. When this path joins the asphalt road, turn left, tackle the climb and work off some elevation to the marked cycling junction right. Continue along the gravel road towards the start and just before it turns into the village, cross left over the meadow on a well visible and trodden path. This joins the marked path at *Gorenjski zid* nasmeh. From there it's not far to the start. Recommended.

I see there's been no post here all year. Today we united hikers members of two clubs - Predoslje-Britof and Brezje-Ljubno-Mošnje and viewed Otliško okno and summited Sinji vrh. Start in Otlica settlement -815m. First to Molkova dolina to see the stone spiral (snail). Before the spiral a large stone pyramid surprised us. Then to Otliško okno. Unfortunately fog blocked the view down the valley. Followed a one-hour hike to Sinji vrh. Unfortunately the inn was closed. But enough visibility to observe Kovk village below. Hosted in Edmund Čibej hut in Tihi dolini. Despite fog we had fun.
