No pikica1, the photo isn't mine, but it's verified authentic from Mežakla, taken this summer recently. Word is at least two bears were rummaging near the weekend cottages, and an acquaintance bumped into one near Škrbina. The hiker who took the pic had a dog with him that pointed it out, but the bear didn't care much about them. Still, I don't want such a meeting at all, but you never know. Photo of Mici from the hunting hut in Završnica is enough for me.. nasmeh

Heinz, I strongly support!
Lojz is definitely an intellectual, academic and man of open heart and ultimately a Man with a capital M. He could certainly get recognition for important artistic work, as it meets all criteria.
Recognition for important artistic work can be awarded for artistic creations that are exceptional in their:
- resonance in the wider domestic and international space,
- mastery in handling the expressive medium,
- artistic originality and uniqueness,
- innovativeness.
If there was anything controversial here, TNP, official services or some green NGO would have acted long ago. Let's enjoy looking at Lojz's masterpiece. I hope no one reacts like the duty choleric or hysteric. Have a nice day.

@heinz thanks for reply, the bear on the photo looks really friendly. Quite an interesting experience for that hiker. Anyway I don't want to meet one either. But if already, then such a good fellow as this one in the picture mežikanje

Trail from Čop: midway there's a detour due to logging, otherwise the trail is quite reworked, changed, ruined. On the plateau top, from Zakop to transmitter still some snow and lots of mud, so to Škrbina the path along northern edge past Partisan Hospital is more suitable.

Today I was on the path from Podmežakla past Zakop towards Škrbina, path is ok, middle part muddy, then snow starts.. from Zakop onwards around 20-25cm.. on the way noticed on some trees notices from TNP supervisors that on Pokljuka and also Mežakla a pack of around 7-8 wolves was spotted eek

but they should fear people, caution for those with dogs, they like to attack dogs.. Regards and stay healthy

From Podmežakla to the top past Zakop, path is OK, snow was just right for walking. On top snow around half a meter or a bit more, at Zakop benches all under snow, also viewpoint balcony at transmitter solidly under snow. A few minutes before Zakop some avalanches over path, they don't obstruct the path. Along the path on the ridge near partisan hospital noticed a pit, at least it looks like it nasmeh

Today completely different from Saturday, no wind, pleasantly warm in the sun.. in the lower part of the path almost no snow left, higher up still quite some, in the forest frozen, on the ridge from Zakop to Škrbina wet.. since I was full of energy after descent from Mežakla went also to Jelenkamen nasmeh

Path from Podmežakla dry, snow appears in the upper part of the path, on ridge a bit mixed, dry, snow nasmeh

Today from Podmežakla on "path by power line". Not from the start on power line trace, but on cart track ending right at scree. Then straight up, soon path or "steps" appear a few meters apart indicating direction. Soon reach snow still quite frozen so head to dry scree, on it bad crumbly path. At end of scree back to first path no snow, then last steps, terrain very steep too. At Škrbina on to Planski vrh with some snow. On return stop at viewpoint and marked path back, that path dry except snow at Zakop and a bit lower avalanche remnants

Afternoon after shift I went up again, on a longer path, at Zakop right on road approx 2km, then at junction sharp left (straight road to Gorje). At junction also sign for viewpoint. Then two more signs for viewpoint and on bad overgrown road soon there nasmeh

road runs at least per map around unnamed peak 1251m. Just descent to Zakop and down, nice loop path nasmeh

And marked loop from Zakop to Škrbina (I didn't mark exactly along the road ;) )

From Podmežakla past Zakop direct to Planski vrh, on return via viewpoint. Path ok, some parts quite overgrown. On top pleasant cool breeze blowing nasmeh

Afternoon to Škrbina and to Planski vrh. Paths all ok. On return descended to natural bridge to see and photo from other angle. There noticed pathlet descending east. Didn't explore as terrain very steep and slippery, on pathlet only game tracks. On top and path quiet, just few hikers, more lively and noisy on Mali Mežakla where Hillclimb Hrušica race on road to dump nasmeh
