Today in beautiful weather on the path via Brinje to Šplevta. Path not marked, but good part of path nicely traceable, above scree it loses a bit, but no problem, keep more left side of valley towards Šplevta. Already at saddle really nice views open, which with ascent to Šplevta itself only widen and enrich. When on it you really don't miss ascents to various Rokavi, Oltarji and Kopice, as you have them all at arm's reach, plus enjoy vast meadows covering its promontory like carpet. Peak that takes your breath away!

In Vrata promised a nice clear day and not too cold with -1.5C.
Morning still in hollow surprises me with dull sound of human shuffling, which echoed completely differently from animal hooves, which announce more sharply, directly and spontaneouslyeek.Immediately thought of Bohinj herds.I thought whoever it is must have quite big j____s to beat me, hehembarrassed.Further calmly ascend through picturesque gully of Red Stream, where rising sun adorned nature with extraordinary color contrasts. To bivouac go directly over rock slab, where still some snow patches.Bivouac perfect replica of old one, just feels somewhat higher inside, length-wise could easily be a meter longer.Met acquaintance Ivo with wife from Škofja Loka, who's Grs there too, great guysmile.Already from valley at AC noticed Dovški križ has plenty snow right on top and exposed ledge part or ice below north, so abandoned ascent to it.Back to Vrata circular via Šplevta over Brinova glava with nice mountaineering debatesmile

Nice, Viharnik! How's parking down at Poldov Rovt? Is roadside parking allowed or maybe more space than before? Is parking allowed at all without risking TNP fine? Or safer to park at larger lot further in Vrata?

Ca. half km before Poldov Rovt nice parking on left road side. There several cars can queue, of course if first doesn't block middle P.

Yes, regarding parking around Poldov Rovt still not legally marked parking lot, so parking lot is and isn't. We parked some before planina at two tourist signs, others behind Poldov Rovt planina. But don't park before rovt, as interferes private land, driveways and main road traffic, in short as sideward and open as possible not blocking driveways and forest tracks.

Viharnik has already said everything about the conditions in main. I was a bit before him and we met in the bivouac.
After he cooked us coffee, I continued to Šplevta and judging by conditions also to Dovški križ.
Once again full praise to volunteers for the work on the new bivouac.nasmeh

Juš and Viharnik, thanks for quick replies. Franci, as always nice photos.
Of course all praise to everyone involved in setting up the new bivouac! Surely one of the nicest Slovenian "frames" with heavenly view!

With Franci we thought in the bivouac it would be good to put some hard plastic on the table, because the wood will quickly get dirty, cut from food prep, otherwise full praise to the buildersnasmehmežikanje

Today 14.3. headed to bivouac II and on to Šplevta. Over the jump (steep part) went fine, despite snow here and there. Above jump snow amount increased a lot, snow was fully southern (at 13:00), sinking to the ass. In summer conditions 20 min below bivouac turned back today. Recipe: very early is not too early.

I'm wondering about the road drivability to Vrata. Thanks. mežikanje

The road is drivable to Aljažev dom. Slopes are wet, here and there some snow on the flat, no problem. Officially closed. Now workers are doing timber salvage and there are temporary roadblocks on the road. This is also an additional reason for early arrival in Vrata.

Yesterday 22.4. up via Brinje. Snow starts on scree, sinking to ankles. Slept in II, then today morning again to Šplevta. Descent past bivouac, snow already above screes. Gully in Rokav flooded.

Today on Šplevta via Brinje. Similar conditions as Rok had a week ago, completely dry to the middle of the scree, new snow on the way to the summit only 5-15cm on old base. Below Šplevta saddle I bypassed two small slabs that came from under DK. Sinking on the way back not annoying.. Very lively on Jezerca - avalanches from Rokav and Oltar very frequent, from DK almost no activity.. Weather fantastic nasmeh

...Brinje, Šplevta and Bivouac II at Jezera, wonderful views everywhere. In beautiful autumn colors everything is even nicer. The path over Brinje is really steep, but nicely routed. Descent via long screes not easy either, but nice.nasmeh

We hadn't been yet, so we went. Metod, Miha, and I. Up via Brinje, down via scree past bivouac. Up steep but nice, down steep and annoying. Weather super, views too. We searched a bit for the path start in the morning. The sign is before the 10 km sign, not behind. On the way back we also went to see Peričnik.
