Hi! I'm also a beginner and would gladly listen to some "belaying" and basic climbing tricks. I'm from Kamnik, don't have gear (yet), would gladly learn also in some climbing school, if someone can help and advise on a decent climbing school or group of people who just learn climbing on some artificial wall and would take a beginner into their "circle". If you don't have colleagues or friends who really know it, better enroll in a climbing school. There's no serious belaying in sport climbing, you just need to know a few knots and really basic maneuvers. Nothing that couldn't be learned quickly - but as I wrote, from someone who knows. I've seen several times in crags that complete beginners teach others, that's of course a recipe for disaster. Personally I know quite a few instructors, so if someone needs info, can contact me.

I'm also looking for a climbing partner or partner for recreational climbing 1x a week in the gym. I'm more or less a beginner, climb very little, but have done beginner course, so no problem with belaying and basic techniques (knots etc.).

Hi! On the coastal end warmer days are already starting, so looking for a climbing partner for afternoon sessions, up to 2 times a week. Beginner ok… Crags from Vipava, via Trst, to Rovinj… Climb recreational level, up to 5c. Gear no problem, 27 years old.

In Ljubljana you have quite a few options. You can join a club or post on the board at Parmova, where tons of people climb. There's a bouldering wall too, great for training and making contacts. If anything about these options interests you, just ask

No biggie. Oh, and this: there are guided sessions under instructor supervision, but prices can be steep. Forgot to mention Urban roof before, probably similar scene as Parmova. Come and climb

hojlaa, from around Lj, no own transport. Have full gear except rope and partner hehe
Been climbing for a good year, in winter visited bouldering wall on Parmova. Ideal if climber from Notranjsko-Primorski end. Otherwise no matter from where, just climb! Oh, on top-rope up to 6b, no lead yet, cheers

Hi, I see I'm not the only one without a climbing partner So "small ad" looking for a climbing partner from Carinthia, been climbing two years and have all gear. Anyone welcome, if you have some experience even better. I know there aren't many sport climbers on this forum, but since the sport climbing topic is open and warnings are supposedly never enough...
... a few days ago 12-year-old Tito Traversa died fatally, probably one of the biggest hopes of sport climbing. The accident reason was so banal it's almost unbelievable. Tito borrowed quickdraws from a peer in the group that were wrongly assembled - one quickdraw wasn't even clipped into the harness, but only into the rubber holder for the quickdraw. Followed inevitable ground fall.
Regularly check your gear and ALWAYS, REALLY ALWAYS check also gear already placed in the route (fixed quickdraws etc.) and borrowed gear!
