From Srebrnjak to T. Pelc there are no major issues with scree. That passage mentioned by @ugn is also easy.

The goal of today's trip wasn't Srebrnjak, but we couldn't refuse Lojze's invitation. Through pathless terrain and hunter's path to saddle Za Česnom. From there steeply up, first across Ovčja planja then across Kozja planja to grassy Rame. There the summit appeared. A few steep grasses and scrambling in the summit part, we were on top. Views to shout about. Followed descent on the same steep steep path. Steep, dry grasses cover remains of paths and tracks. But Lojze is Lojze, child of these steep slopes. He walked like on a stroll.

On Saturday with Andraž climbed in Srebrnjak, had super luck with weather, enjoyed views of solitary peaks and big clouds. For those seeking solitude and peace, this valley is definitely worth visiting.

Bravo, I know in the lower part orientation is a bit harder.
When my friend and I climbed this route we also searched a bit more for the right passages below.

Beautiful, already quite summery day above Trenta this Saturday. Thanks to Lojze the steep pathless grasses of Srebrnjak were overcome without issues, no snow up there for some time. Lojze kindly offered to lead me to the top via hunter's path to saddle Za Česnom and further on young and flowering - but very steep - grasses across Ovčja and Kozja planja. A bit below the summit, where our "path" joined the start of the rocky gully (which runs east of the mentioned meadows) we came across a couple of cairns, obviously set by this year's visitors to Srebrnjak who probably came via that gully. As always, descent required even more concentration than ascent.
Hard to say what impressed me more – the Trenta wilderness with views like from viewpoints, or Lojze who led me through it like a youngster and showed it like his home, for which I'm very grateful. Thanks also to Janez for useful tips.

Last Friday (11.10.2019) from Pl. Zapotok via Tumova route to Ribežne and on to Srebrnjak.

In the lower part of the sz wall of Ribežnov I take the Right approach, in the upper third I traverse left to the exit gully, by which I climb to Ribežne i.e. the ridge between Trentski Pelc and Srebrnjak. The continuation to Srebrnjak was already known to me from traversing the entire ridge Ušje - Srebrnjak. This time from the summit I continue along the exposed but very beautiful ridge of Srebrnjak all the way to its steep western wall. With four rappels of 30m I descend to the saddle Mala vrata. Zapotoški vrh was also planned, but since it was already in cold shadow and I had already been to its summit, I easily give it up nasmeh So from Mala vrata I head down along trodden paths and one bigger jump. Nice circular tour, planned for some years, finally got its "tick". nasmeh

Yesterday (11.5.2024) my son and I did a spring ascent to Srebrnjak. Tips from previous posts on this forum were a great help to us, so thanks everyone for the descriptions.
We left the road at the "famous" 20th hairpin and tried to follow the path through the forest as long as possible, then up along the left edge of the scree to a transverse hunting trail that brought us to the saddle at Česnu (or whatever the real name is there), where we startled a herd of chamois. From here the ascent becomes more interesting, as there are no orientation points on the horizon, and the summit isn't visible from here due to the steep slopes. Then we ascended in Trent style slightly to the right and up. To our right there was a distinct gully. On this section the steepness was the greatest on the whole route. Then higher we climbed left to a nice panoramic saddle (height around 1700m). From there we spotted the scene from the first of the three photos by user dprapr (13.8.2013) and somehow followed the suggested direction. This brought us to the second panoramic saddle at 1860m. From there the nice grassy ramp was already clearly visible, starting around 1950m and nicely directing towards the summit. The path was dry throughout, the grass dry. The grassy slopes are adorned with gentians, marmots and other blue and yellow flowers.
The day was sunny, occasionally clouds covered the sun, but they were above the Julian peaks. The views from Srebrnjak are so beautiful that you don't easily decide to descend back to the valley. As if you're in the center of the Julian Alps. The stunning view across the north face gives a sense of pure verticality.
We descended the way we ascended. The ice axe was very useful on the way back in those steep sections. It's probably unnecessary to emphasize that we didn't meet a soul. Even on the main road in the Trenta valley there was very little traffic.

Bravo to both for the demanding ascent. It awaits us, if we manage last year's unfinished ascent to Plešivec.

Darinka,
make an effort for Plešivec via Ušje. To Ušje hunting trail, a bit below Utro right across the stream or bed, one passage was secured with a cable, probably still there, here and there some ribbons on the trees. Then along the ridge onwards to Plešivec. That awaits me too, the ridge, I was at Ušje in dry conditions, at Plešivec in snow, long long ago. Beautiful areas, fairy-tale nasmeh

Bojan via Ušje we surely won't go. Last year we almost got stuck up there in that impassable scrub. But we reached Ušje. The descent was demanding because time was pressing us and every path ended above a drop. Then we finally found the hunting trail and walked the last part in the dark to the starting point. When we go I'll let you know. You can come with us.

There are passages between the two, some scrub has been cut, but yeah, not entirely easy.

So I'm not the only one who struggled with the scrub in those areas.velik nasmeh Already below I missed the cable, higher up I spent almost an hour looking for the crossing to the top of Ušje, the descent from Ušje itself was swimming through scrub until I found, halfway along the path, the crossing towards the top of Plešivec.zadrega
