On New Year's Day the path took me to Sv. Jošt above Kranj; when looking where to attach a few words and photos, somewhat surprised I find almost no one writes anything about this beautiful and interesting path (noble Gorenjci obviously keep it to themselves); also under trip descriptions I don't find this forest path (only by road), which starts right down in the valley at parking under power lines, continues in gentle ascent over grassy hill, disappears in zigzag style into forest (great for summer), in second half turns into quite a »knee biter« and at the very summit with views embraces wide panorama from Blegos, Ratitovec, Črna prst, Triglav, Kepa, Golica, Stol, Košuta ridge, to Storžič, Srednji vrh, Kočna, Grintovec, Krvavec, even Menina, and Snežnik,…; path was a bit muddy this time, slippery in places, in sheltered spots sprinkled with thin »crust of snow core«, lots of visitors before and in hut, in inn extremely friendly staff who gifted us ca 2-meter papyrus with panorama of all peaks this summit offers (also with names); great start of yearnasmeh; best regards and safe to all

But this path is described, it's called Sodarjeva pot, starts in forest just a few 100m higher where you started. mežikanjenasmeh

janna@ thanks for help, yes it really joins that Sodarjeva pot, start confused me, so Tičnica; also description of "Sodarjeva" matches perfectly, it's quite steepmežikanje, otherwise really extremely beautiful; and no mistake, extremely well marked, with benches for "panting", full of small paths that join every now and then from road for those shortening; bestnasmehmežikanje

For people from Kranj, Sv Jošt means the same as Šmarna gora for us, so if you're nearby, you dash up.
With Brane we had just the right time for the tour so that Grace does math tutoring, since despite being an excellent student at Bežigrad Gymnasium it's not really easy.
Jošt is also not a flat hill, so everyone was puffing in the slopes. Unlike Šmarna gora here everyone greets. A few days ago up there also Raso Najsterovic and Milič with friends were celebrating Marko's round 40. On the breeze from the north cooling the heat we drink Smrekovec with extended tea and head back to the valley. Service excellent, prices much lower than Šmarna. Tea with a slice of real lemon 1.2€, on Šmarna just tea 1.5€. I told Ledinek years ago if he's on Kredaricazmedenvelik nasmeh

Since it was warmer on Šmarjetna gora than on Ljubelj, instead of Ljubelj I go to Sv. Jošt too.
Paths here are also well trodden, in lower part somewhat icy in places.
Regards, Tadej

Trnje - Križna gora - Planica - Čepulje - Sv.Jošt - Špičasti hrib - Trnje

Interesting that not much is written about this peak here, nothing this year yet. But it's nicely visited, quite a few yesterday too, but little socializing. Everyone chose their corner and stuck to it without budging. It's been so long since I was on this path on this hill that I'd forgotten how pleasant it actually is. I thought you have to go along the road all the way, but nope. Actually most are forest paths, kind of half-shaded, really nice. If this path was last hiked 25 years ago, next time it'll definitely be repeated sooner.
But to Špičasti hrib I won't go anymore, no view at all, next time straight to Sv. Mohor.

It was a long path, but we still found time for dandelion and wild garlic, which goes perfectly with dry meats on the tournasmeh. From Križna gora we even took our own variant that extended the path a bit.
Km piled up quite a bit, don't know exactly how many, but quite a lot since towards the end of the tour we were barely dragging our legs.

nice walk otherwise ...
but, does it work these days to cross the ordered ban on the border of 2 municipalities and publish it publicly or maybe - like most - just wait until the measures are lifted ...

With retirees group Četrkovci PD Škofja Loka on a bit longer ramble from Jošt, past Špičasti vrh, to Sv. Mohor and from there to chapel Sv. Jedert. Hike lasted whole four hours. Weather nice, dry, full of autumn views on nearby hills and chapels on them. Also found some chanterelles.
The bus dropped us off at the fire station of Sv. Jošt.1
They have a beautiful home.2
Soon after the bend behind the fire station, the marked path to Sv. Jošt begins.3
This Smeško or however I should call him reminds us to protect nature.4
I don't know what this path is called, but it is marked.5
