Today on the route Spodnje Hoče - Petkovo sedlo - Mariborska koča - Sedovec - Areh - Šumik - Ruše.
The path to Šumik is normally passable, snow just some on the ski trail. For the descent to Mali Šumik I used crampons, further the path is dry.

On the Bajgot - Veliki Šumik path, the cable is quite loose in certain places, so extra caution is needed! The path along Lobnica to the waterfalls is still CLOSED.

Can someone tell me why the Holcarska path along Lobnica is closed, since extra caution is only needed from Mali Šumik upwards?

The path along Lobnica to the waterfalls is impassable, hikers turned back, but with the help of our pathfinder we found all the bypasses (there aren't few) and reached our goal - Mali Šumik waterfall.
Lobnica is wonderful, streams spray from all slopes, water in abundance. Ears suffer slightly from all the noise, the roaring is pronounced along the whole path.
Pleasant springtime stretching of limbs, towards the end even with some sun.

A few Saturday photos from the excursion from Ruš to the Šumik estate.
I went up through Zgornji Smolnik, descended through the virgin forest and then along the Lobnica valley.
From the upper side there was no warning about the path closure in the Lobnica valley, but there is one on the lower side.
Otherwise, the traversed path is normally passable except that it's quite muddy in places.
From what I saw, I would conclude that the path along the Lobnica valley is closed due to the section from the virgin forest to the waterfalls, as lower down there were no major issues on the path.

Circular walk, perhaps more suitable for warmer days, because everything is in the shade. I was lucky - neither wind blowing nor rain falling. Again - don't go in summer because you won't see the waterfalls in full glory… Everything is nicely marked. On sections one needs to walk more carefully and not fool around so as not to fall into the stream or off the slope. The harder parts (only harder, because there are no really hard ones) are very well secured with pegs and ropes.
