Summer vacation - where??

I'm interested in your opinion, or rather if anyone has been abroad somewhere on vacation. Mainly I'm interested in cycling paths, trails, easier hiking tours. Since my girlfriend and I don't feel like the sea, we've decided to go check out a bit from Slovenia, tell me where it's worth going (preferably by car, because we'd take the bikes with us), but it's not a must! Accommodation in a hotel, price up to 1000€ for both (without travel costs) Where do you recommend?

Dolomites or around Lake Garda. Several colleagues have vacationed there (I haven't yet ) and all say it's a cyclists' and hikers' paradise.

Why abroad if it's nice at home. I've been going on vacation to Bovec for almost 10 years, there are still plenty of bike tours and hikes in the mountains and they won't run out soon.

Uhhh, I thought we were the only ones going to Bovec with my girlfriend for 6 years already. But I think we'll go again soon, because it's wonderful.

After all nearby "known" mountains (ITA,A) it's worth turning to Switzerland or France sometimes. There are well-maintained and marked MTB trails high into the mountains. This year I plan to visit Vanoise park-France again on the way (Genova), where by the shortest route from Slovenia we go through Po Valley via Turin over Mt Cenis pass 2083m, which is generally open from May on, there 750km to Lanslevillarda 1450m. I'll camp there for 7-10€/day, because I don't like hotels and artificial comforts and schedules. From lower town Termignon you can cycle up mountain road from 1287m into heart of Vanoise park to saddle with parking La Chaviere 2307m. Obviously there are quite a few of us who return to Bovec every year There you really never get bored and it's real balm for the soul.

What do you take as a base, those going to Bovec, and which are the best peaks worth going to?

We've been going to Bovec for a long time and so far we've conquered (average hikers): Kriške pode, Prehodavce, on Kanin Dom Petra Skalarja, Prestreljenik and its window, Matajur, Krn, Batognica and over the lake to Lužnica back to Kuhinja, Tolmin mountains: Peak above Škrbina, Vogel, Tolminski Kuk, Kobariški Stol etc. and various mountains, of which there are plenty there. Everywhere very nice.

In Hallstatt we mostly camp and so far have most often had "base" in Polovnik camp in Bovec itself.
Otherwise wherever you go follow turbo's advice and won't fail

Easy bike path - along Drava - Drauradweg. Or Zell am See area. I like Austria a lot, but I also vacation every year in Rateče where there's positive energy for me.

bike, bags, tent, sleeping bag, stove... and off we go anywhere... Around SLO, or Drava, Danube, Dolomites... "Priceless way" vacationing!

Advise me which of the listed locations is best for "vacation base": Bovec, Log pod Mangartom or Pokljuka?
Since you know where I'm aiming, can you suggest some other location?

Definitely Bovec or Log pod Mangartom. Between these two I'd choose Bovec.

We vacationed in Pohorje...plenty of opportunities for hikes,cycling,there were also animations-archery,riding,with gondola to the valley and swimming...veeeeeery nice summer vacation,that will stay in everyone's best memory..outweighs any sea
