I don't know if Begunjščica is really ideal, it seems to me (correct me if I'm wrong) that Begunjščica is really ideal for some avalanche in current conditions. Better think about some Debela Peč or Mrežice.

The best is Kredarica, because you can see the farthest from there too, and even better to sleep there and wake up to a dark red morning.

Hi Despite not being fully healthy yet (rotavirus from kids) I went to Rašica anyway. Tomorrow it will be cool. Nice sunrise, met sparrows too that escaped before I could photograph them, so instead I secretly watched chamois until they spotted me Also went to see where one can observe it. Nice morning, fresh air..... Hi

Lp Well I also experienced my first sunrise. Pikec1's pictures excited me, thanks pikec! I was on the middle summit, got there one hour too early, but I don't regret it, because it was already getting light then (stars were still there), really wonderful awakening of the day from the very beginning. Next time when the snow melts I'll go more to the east, so I can catch that ball rising from the ground too pics+video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FdV7Ia2GAHo Lp

Hello, On Sunday, 25.7., I plan to go wait for sunrise in the mountains, and I have one question. I found data that that day the sun rises at 5:35. I'm interested what that time means - that it's already full daylight then? Because for the sun to just peek over the hills then seems a bit late to me. Surely someone has more experience with this, and I'd be happy for info so I don't miss the sunrise in the end.

At that time the sun peeks over the horizon (not necessarily from behind the desired hill), so it's already full daylight. If you want to see those first (most beautiful in my opinion) phases of sunrise, i.e. from darkness to the sun itself, you'll need to be at the top about an hour and a half earlier.

It gets light earlier, the sunrise time means that at that hour you see the sun which is bright red. I suggest you be up there at least 45 min earlier. The horizon clears, starts getting colors that are increasingly beautiful, and then it gets lighter and lighter............. So be up earlier if you want to see the magic of sunrise. And of course clear sky Best regards

Those who are earlier can observe such colors live, others just have to look at our pictures...

Thanks a lot for the answer. So at least I know when to be on top of the hill, cuz I'd like to see the whole show from start to end.

Let me borrow the topic a bit I just made a little video about another sunrise. http://vimeo.com/13305191 Otherwise yeah, best to be up an hour before sunrise, only then you see all the color play on the horizon
