Partial closure of the state road in Jesenice due to construction works.
Jesenice residents and all drivers are informed that construction works on public utility infrastructure will soon begin in the OPPN Partizan area. Therefore, a partial closure of the state road through Jesenice will be necessary, specifically between the roundabout and TVD Partizan. The closure will run from February 17, 2025 at 7:00 to July 17, 2025 until 17:00.
During this time, traffic to Hrušica will be diverted to the local road, namely Delavska ulica and Ulica Viktorja Kejžarja. Drivers heading to Javornik will continue to use the free section of the state road carriageway.
We ask all road users for understanding and adherence to the temporary traffic regime. Thank you for your patience!

Golica, a 1835-meter-high mountain in the Karawanks, is a real magnet for numerous hikers in spring months, especially in May, who climb to the summit from various directions. Members of the Jesenice Mountaineering Club have a popular hut on the southern slope, which will be regularly open this year from April 26 onwards.
Hut keeper Bojan Zajc with colleagues will provide authentic mountaineering atmosphere with good selection and safe shelter in bad weather. Reservations recommended for
overnight stays.
As every year, the key locks – as locals call daffodils – will bloom this May too, attracting numerous nature lovers to the pastures above Jesenice. Therefore, a special traffic regime will be set up for three weekends (10th and 11th, 17th and 18th, 24th and 25th May) from Prihodi settlement to Planina pod Golico. Organized parking will be available for visitors; all-day parking fee will be 10 euros. The main event will be the 61st Miss Daffodil selection, organized by Golica Tourist Association on May 17, with varied program for children and concerts by groups The West Band and Svizci.

They started demolishing the Jesenice High School building
16.05.2025.
Midweek they started demolishing the Jesenice High School buildings. With this, a 20 million euros investment has begun, within which the old school will be completely demolished, and two separate buildings will be newly built. The main building will have classrooms with cabinets and administration, the separate building workshops and gym, and the surroundings will also be arranged.
During construction, classes will take place at several replacement locations in Jesenice, said acting principal Monika Lotrič. These are: Jesenice Gymnasium, TVD Partizan, Jesenice Music School, Jesenice Youth Center and Prežihov Voranc Primary School. Students and teachers will move next week, this school year they have 630 enrolled students, but since the final years have already finished the school year, there are already nearly half as many in school.
Classes at replacement locations will continue next school year too.

Notice about extraordinary construction works for Jesenice High School construction
We inform citizens that the contractor for the new Jesenice High School, company VG5, d.o.o., will carry out construction works on the site for two consecutive Sundays – June 8 and 15, 2025 – between 8:00 and 17:00.
The works are necessary as the contract binds the contractor to complete the project in a short time frame – by summer 2026.
The project for renovation and extension of Jesenice High School building is estimated at 27.2 million euros. Of this, 8.8 million euros will be provided from EU funds under the Recovery and Resilience Mechanism. Since it is a project partially financed by EU funds, contractor VG5 must strictly adhere to the set deadlines, which is also the reason for accelerated execution.
We ask for understanding and patience.
