Toilets WC on Planika under Triglav

I'd be embarrassed if I were the caretaker or president of the society caring for Kredarica or Planika. It's more than obvious the current leaders haven't cared for a long time... especially this year's visit. Even our dog has a nicer and cleaner home. Yesterday visited Vršič and Aljažev dom in Vratih, where WCs also don't "obey". The only thing they know is to collect parking fees, but roads and parking lots they can't arrange. Why moan, at home I pay sewerage for sewer we don't have, shit direct to Ljubljanica.
See you somewhere in mountains, lp

I think PZS members must achieve that those responsible start with certain changes. Horror where we are, still far from the Balkans.

I have a really pleasant experience though. You'll say it's not really high up, but still.. I couldn't get a place to sleep in the Krnica hut, no wonder they have only 11 beds. I risked another hour walk to the car in Pišnica, even though I had a good tour to Špik that day. I stopped at the first hut. Mihov dom. I was tired, asked if they have any free bed. I was pleasantly surprised. Friendly older caretaker offered me a bed, said shared mattresses, but I got a great double bed, even though alone. And in a separate room. For beer he asked if I prefer more or less cold. I showered. They have shower cabin, but it feels good after full day hike. I know I slept well all night. And morning coffee was excellent. Not making ad. That's how it was.

Yes, maybe one of the rare exceptions in our mountain area. Your comment doesn't outweigh all my experiences and the actual situation in our huts.

@darinka4 it's really cool that they took such good care of your accommodation.

What I don't understand is why, for example, stay overnight in the mountains for such short tours when the car is so close. I for example much prefer going home, even if I'm completely exhausted. Last time I went from the bridge in Bohinj to Črni prst, then along the entire ridge to Komna. When I got back down to Savica I was really quite exhausted and walking on asphalt with a heavy backpack really wasn't pleasant. But I walked the whole way to the lake and to the bridge to get to the car.

With all the arrogance (they don't reply to emails, phones, don't pick up registered letters) they practice in PD Gorje and catastrophic attitude to people and nature, I would suggest taking away Planika and Dolič from them.
@iUnknown, I hope we won't read in the newspaper: for unknown reason drove to the opposite side of the road. If you like to endanger yourselves I'd understand but endangering others I don't.

Whatever about thumbs up and down - or likes, I don't care, I write what I think, without embellishing.
Photos meant for family album, I don't post, because I love nature, these are current conditions where my hairstyle isn't important.
Come on, accept already that our mountain conditions are comparable only to the Balkans, not to EU countries.
Regards!

Jprim, for the second part of the blog I won't give you a like. When were we already at the gates of the second Switzerland. We also chased the French-German train with all our might. So I think we're at least one foot in the EU, with the other foot maybe still leaning a bit on the Balkans. Regards

I Unknown. That's the first time I hear that the tour to Špik is short. Especially if you have another three hours' drive to the starting point. It depends on the traffic on the road now in the season. Five hours to the top. If you go through Kačji graben, like I did, it extends a bit on that steep and strenuous scree. Better to sleep in some hut and the next day do another tour. Not everyone lives so close to the mountains that they can go home. Driving is tiring. Especially on the highway. Last time there was an accident and at Kozarje we crawled in a column like snails. Some of us turned off at Brezovica. Then there was a queue there too. And right after that the traffic cleared on the highway. And keep calm nerves.nasmeh

Darinka, why do you even defend your actions? Even if you went around there just for a walk, it's entirely your decision, and you don't need to justify yourself to anyone, least of all here on the forum.
Everyone does as they please. Someone else can hike all night if they like, and even the whole next day.
