A week ago, first time on Trdinov Peak. The above post encouraged us to head to Gorjanci. In Gabrje a large parking lot, very full. Path nicely marked, well trodden, lower part muddy, middle frozen, upper part nicely snowy with fresh snow. No distant views from the top, but still a very nice afternoon walk. nasmeh

Saturday group tour to Trdinov Peak succeeded excellently. Over 30 participants, real winter conditions, lots of snow, quite strong wind, but Dolenjska was an excellent choice anyway. From Gabrje to hut at Gospodična, to summit, further towards Miklavž, part of path, then to hut. Excellent service, food, super tea fitted perfectly... bravo team.
Really lots of snow, freezes at night, so good footwear necessary, small crampons.
Beautiful day with excellent views over large part of Slovenia and Croatia.

28.7.2023: Hike started in Šmiklavž and car parked a bit above church of St. Miklavž. Then climbed to Trdinov Peak and returned via Krvavi kamen and past Dom na Gospodični, where we refueled with goulash in bread bowl, back to start.

Pensioners DU Britof-Predoslje climbed to Trdinov Peak. Start at Gospodična and that via demanding rocky path to the very summit. I must admit, the ascent was in places quite steep, rocky, rooty though nicely trodden and marked paths otherwise nice, just too demanding for some individuals. Demanding ascent rewarded at top at two chapels-St. Gere (Jere) and St. Ilija. Chapel of St. Jere beautifully presented. Surprised no record of St. Ilija. Heritage of both chapels wonderfully protected. Some even climbed the tower not far from chapels. On return to start first part along road past Slovenian guardhouse. Gostišče pri Gospodični of course closed and also the miraculous fountain of youth under the hut dried up. All hardships washed away in Trebnje at hotel Opara, where they also sell good coffee from local roastery. We had nice autumn pleasantly warm weather. Last time here over twenty years ago.

The start promises it will be fairly easy.

The path is steep in places, rocky, full of roots.

Something is already appearing high above the forest.

Still a little gymnastics to the top of the roughly one-hour ascent. Of course it took our retirees much longer.

One last incline and suddenly we are at the marker.

Beautifully protected little church of St. Ilija.

At both church ruins there are also wish bells.

The tower is not far away in the forest.

For the conclusion, to Trebnje for a warm snack.

To Trdinov Peak from the north, and circular. Up near Dom Gospodična, down from Miklavž near Lovačka kuća.
Little exploration, looking for some shortcut but I (too early) gave up searching.

After two years, I'm back here. The pensioners from DU Medvode came here. This time I was assistant leader, because my knee still hurts badly and I go slower. My assistant had another goal and couldn't come. Leading was taken by leader from Medvode - thanks her. We drove forest road to Gospodična. Road in places extremely bad due to timber extraction. In places it was quite a crisis. Well, we had experienced bus driver - thanks him. He drove us to Gospodična. From there to Trdinov vrh via left quite steep rooty path. In a good hour we arrived at summit. We viewed both chapels. Back to Gospodična via left quite nice path. Weather was nice, sometimes even sun shone. We managed to make group photo - one always missing on pic. Refreshment in nice inn - at the bears. Already blooming quite some forest flowers - from dandelion to primrose.

Along the path there are signs that mark points of interest along the path. - here are wild garlic beds.

Transmitter on Trdinov vrh - of course I zoomed it in.

They have nicely protected these remains.

Unfortunately, the hut is closed on Monday and Tuesday.

Yesterday nice sunny day on Trdinov vrh. Start from Gabrje. Path without special features, autumn beautiful and colorful, especially section from Trdinov vrh to Miklavž. At Gospodična lots of water. Excellent strudel with lingonberry topping in hut at Miklavž. Circular return, towards Krvavi kamen and Gospodična was planned, but unwittingly took us to mountain bikers trail, down which we descended to Pendirjevka stream, which is currently quite watery, then along it to starting point in Gabrje. Quite a lot of visitors. nasmeh
