Since the hut at Gospodična is open only on weekends and holidays, there is little chance it will be much trampled to the hut, because most go only to the hut, addicted to Gorjanci dwarves competitions, to the summit only diehards. Saturday morning it will definitely be trampled, because cyclists Adrije have training up to the top early.

well, if I decide to break trail in snow, approx how much do you think awaits on trail itself at 650m, 900m and upper part? No snowshoes, at least not yet this year, so just winter boots and gaiters...

If you manage to follow trail, max to knees, mostly much less. I was first breaking trail from Gospodična up during previous heavy snowfall, gaiters were enough.
How exactly at 650,900 and 1178 you'll have to measure yourself.

thanks for the information. Given the weather and available time, I'll try Thursday afternoon. I've been up on dry ground already, but not for some time. In snow never. I intentionally want to use this opportunity as great training for challenges elsewhere in similar situations. I hope the path remained in my memory, if unclear in places where it actually goes. Even if at least one went up before me, it will be easier.

Yesterday skied 2x from the barracks to Krvavi kamen. The road is barely plowed to Krvavi kamen and also further to the barracks, but I don't recommend it without 4x4. Depth of fresh snow is 15 to 25 cm. Trail from ski slope not trodden, from Krvavi kamen through primeval forest it is (both variants). Snowshoes recommended. Additional info: GSM 040 551 171. This afternoon on Trdinov vrh. Conditions are quite all right, some sections quite soggy and muddy, less snow and only above Dom pri Gospodični, specifically on steeper ascent through forest, and then above 1000m to the top. Still no major issues and one can nicely reach the top.

Yesterday we walked the trail we had planned for some time. From home on foot to Trdinov vrh. By car via Vahta it would be over 22 km.
Start at Jurna vas, also start for increasingly popular Mehovski hrib. Trail through villages Podgrad and Vinja vas, crosses road Novo mesto-Metlika and below village Iglenik takes cart track to stream. From there along stream and poorly marked path to the top.
With short break we took 4 hours to the top, about 1000m elevation gain.
Current hiking conditions pleasant (not wet, not hot, not cold), fields and forests have nice autumn colors, only stream not roaring due to low water. Some hikers, at Gospodična tasty lunch.
Along trail some interesting things worth a stop: century-old linden and church in Podgrad, church in Vinja vas, nice hayracks, remains of glassworks (glažuta) below Dolž, stream gorge, large Gorjanci hayrack.... no need to list all - experience yourselves!

Today on Trdinov vrh from Gabrje. Trail nicely trodden, some spots slightly icy. Nice winter idyll, many hikers too, especially at top many from Croatia, so pleasant mountaineering gathering with neighbors  .

I have done it several times already. I would start from Gabrje at 9 or 10. Probably it will be snowing, but it seems not too heavy.
What conditions await me from your experience based on current state and forecast? Almost surely at least last part of trail in deep snow (that part doable on road)? What kind of snow is/will be?

This year first time on Trdinec. Ski slope Jugorje-Gospodična-Miklavž-Dolina. Ice spared Gorjanski hosti. Southern wind nicely licks the snow  so there's more of it in the valley than on the peak.

on Friday and yesterday on Trdinov Peak. Both times route: Gabrje-Gospodična-peak-Miklavž-Gospodična-Gabrje. The path is extremely muddy to Gospodična - real mud bath, slippery and unpleasant. On the peak some new snow fell on Sunday so the peak is symbolically white. Yesterday very foggy, on Friday cloudy with little view. Here I would warn the responsible ones that the logbook has been full for two months, all wet and torn. PD Krka to action, as this is your flagship peak
